The Dodgers too care of business yesterday and we like them again today. Edwin Jackson has been terrible this year, especially on the road. His road ERA is 5.97 and WHIP is 1.56. He is also 1-7 on the road. Beckett hasn’t been great in 3 of his last 4 starts but he has been very good this year and we expect a strong effort against the Cubs weak offense. Beckett has been phenomenal during day games this year. In 26 innings pitched he had a 0.69 ERA and 0.65 WHIP. The Dodgers are the much better team with the better pitcher and the have won 7 of 8. Dodgers should win easily today.

Tyson Ross at home is as good as it gets. At home on the year he owns a 1.86 ERA with a 0.98 WHIP and has 85 K’s over 82 innings. He is even better in day starts with a 3-1 record, 1.00 ERA and 0.92 WHIP. We are taking the first 5 innings over the money line here because his average start is typically only 6 innings and this truly is a play on Ross and his superb home numbers.

Seems crazy going up this hard against Strasburg with the Phillies but Hamels has been so incredible of late that we have to hit the Phillies hard here. Hamels has not allowed more than 3 runs since May. He also has allowed 2 runs combined over his past 3 starts (0.74 WHIP, 0.78 ERA). Strasburg has fallen on some hard times with a 4.19 ERA over his past 3 starts with only 1 solid game in those. Philadelphia has taken 2 of the first 3 games in this series and have won 6 of their past 10 overall. A LOT of value here.
Toronto Blue Jays -1 -133 *3*
The Jays power surge has cooled off but we think they get to Feldman the righty today. More importantly we have an incredible amount of faith in phenom Marcus Stroman to give the Jays an amazing outing – as he has done since being a starter (and an even better last 3 starts 0.71 WHIP, 0.43 ERA). Look for Toronto to split this series here against the Astros.
Texas Rangers ML -107 *3*
We need to take Darvish at this price. He has continued his dominance this season posting a 10-6 record with a 2.90 ERA and has 167 strikeouts in 133.1 innings. The Indians counter with Trevor Bauer who has also been pitching well lately but still sports average numbers with his 4-6 record with a 4.25 ERA. Even though the Rangers are playing mediocre ball they have still managed to be 16-7 in Darvishs last 23 starts overall and today we take the much better arm at a great price.
