For starters I like taking the shot with the money line +600. Boise is minus 900 which means Vegas is saying Lafayette would win one out of every nine times. I am not too sure it wouldn’t be more than that. This is a team that won the Sun Belt last year and are predicted to win it again by most of the experts. This team has thrown to 15 different receivers this season, they have a veteran offensive line, a veteran QB and a veteran running back. This is a very tough test that nobody is talking about. Boise does not look too hot this year. They played poor last week and were lucky to beat UConn of all teams. This offensive line is young without experience and they might be missing their most experienced starter today. The cornerbacks are banged up big time which is not good going against all the targets Terrance Broadway has on this team. The Boise Defensive line lost a key player for the season and this team should just not be favored by this much. This is not the old Boise team we remember going up and down the blue turf and dropping 70 points. Keep in mind this Boise Staff had a lot of guys including the coach that were on Arkansas State last year. Lafayette pounded that team last season. Another key factor is the travel time this Boise team had so far this year. They went from Atlanta back home then to UConn then back home. This team probably has put on the most miles by far of any college team. The odds of coming into Boise and winning are never good especially when Lafayette has turned the ball over like crazy so far this season, but nothing last forever and its clear the talent in Boise is on the decline. This game has all the makings of a possible upset. You have to trust you info and just give it a shot. Take Lafayette plus the points and if you want go for that money line.

If Marshall’s opponent can throw the football with any kind of production, I’m always going to be attracted to the Thundering Herd ‘OVER’ the total. The last two seasons Marshall has averaged 42.1 and 40.9 points per game. This is the first time Akron has seen Marshall since the Herd played in the MAC. So consequently, they have never faced Marshall QB Rakeem Cato, who has a 100-32 ratio in his four years with the Herd. Obviously we know what Marshall is capable of offensively. I watched Akron play Penn State limiting the Lions to 21-points. But Penn State left a ton of points on the field and Hackenberg just was not sharp that day. Plus that Nittany Lion defense will make many teams look feeble offensively. But the bottom line is Akron has thrown it 90 times in two games completing 52 with five TD passes. Akron coach Terry Bowden once described QB Kyle Pohl as “the man with the golden arm.” The Zips allowed 33 or more points five times last year. Plus most of their opponents were in the MAC and nobody as prolific offensively like Marshall. The big intangible is Akron has not seen Cato.
