-- For the first time since Week 10, the 'under' came through in a majority of the weekend's games.

-- The East Division is suddenly showing some signs of life. After a surprising Week 13, the East picked up another huge win when Hamilton (5-7) won 16-11 on the road in Winnipeg (6-7). The TiCats have won a season-high three in a row, going 2-1 ATS during the stretch.

-- The Blue Bombers were actually tied for first place in the West after a 5-1 start, but they have dropped six of the past seven to go under .500 for the first time this season. They have failed to cover the past three, and five of the past seven.

-- Montreal (5-8), like Hamilton, has caught fire lately. The Alouettes have won back-to-back games for just the second time this season, and they're 4-1 SU/ATS over the past five.

-- Saskatchewan (9-4) was blanked in Edmonton (9-4), as the RoughRiders are going through a rough patch. Saskatchewan was 5-2 ATS from July 26 through Sept. 7, but they are 1-2 SU and 0-3 ATS over the past three.

-- After last week's shocking loss to the Alouettes, Calgary (11-2) got back on track with a 14-7 win and cover over the BCLions (7-6).

-- Lions have now dropped three of their past five games overall, and they're 1-4 ATS during the slide. The 'under' has also cashed in five of the past six for the Lions, and is 3-10 overall this season.

CFL Betting Notes - Week 15

Points were hard to come by in the normally prolific CFL last week with all four contests staying well UNDER the closing betting odds. Montreal got past Ottawa last Friday 15-7 as a 1 ½-point road favorite with the total staying UNDER 46 ½ points. In the second half of Friday’s double-header Edmonton blanked Saskatchewan 24-0 as a 5 ½-point favorite at home with the total staying UNDER 48 ½ points.

In the first of two Saturday matchups Hamilton grinded-out a 16-11 victory over Winnipeg as a two-point road underdog. The total in this game stayed UNDER 51. In the final game in Week 14 of the CFL regular season Calgary doubled-up British Columbia 14-7 as a 6 ½-point favorite at home. The total stayed UNDER a 47-point closing line this time around.

Winnipeg (6-7 SU, 7-6 ATS) at Ottawa (1-11 SU, 4-8 ATS)

Game Overview

The Blue Bombers fell below .500 for the first time this season and they are riding a four-game straight-up losing streak into Friday’s game. Quarterback Drew Willy did start last week’s game and while he threw for 303 yards while completing 65.9 percent of his 41 passes, it did not translate to points on the board.

Ottawa’s offense fell back into its old ways after scoring 32 points in a Week 13 loss to Saskatchewan. The expansion RedBlacks have averaged 15 points per game this season, but they have failed to reach this total in six of their last eight games.

Betting Trends

The Blue Bombers won the first meeting this season in Week 2 of the regular season with a 36-28 victory as 3 ½-point home favorites. The total in that game went OVER the 53-point closing total line.

Game Overview

Calgary bounced back from a stunning Week 13 loss to Montreal on the road as a 6 ½-point favorite with last week’s win, but there has to some level of concern with an offense that has managed a total of 29 points in those two games after averaging 27.8 PPG this year. The much anticipated return of quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell may have to wait one more week before he is officially cleared to play.

It is obvious that the Roughriders’ issues at quarterback are largely responsible for their uninspired 1-2 SU mark (0-3 ATS) in their last three games. Tino Sunseri is probably not the answer to replace Darian Durant after hitting just 6-of-12 passes for 53 yards and an interception in last week’s dismal showing against Edmonton.

Betting Trends

Calgary has a dominating 9-3 SU edge in the last 12 meetings, but it is just 1-4-1 ATS in the last six games of this series. The total in this West Division rivalry has gone OVER in five of the last seven games played in Saskatchewan.

The Calgary Stampeders remain the most profitable team in the CFL heading into Week 15 of the season with records of 11-2 SU and 9-4 ATS as they prepare to take on the Roughriders in Saskatchewan. That matchup highlights the CFL betting slate for the week.

Winnipeg at Ottawa

Last 10 Meetings: Ottawa 0-1 SU, 0-1 ATS | OU 1-0

Riding a nine-game SU losing streak the Ottawa RedBlacks will be trying to finally get back into the win column on Friday night as they take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for the second time this season. The RedBlacks and Blue Bombers met in Winnipeg back on July 3, with the home side winning 36-28 and covering the 3.5-point spread on the CFL betting lines at the sportsbooks. That game turned out to be an OVER result for totals bettors.

Calgary at Saskatchewan

Last 10 Meetings: Saskatchewan 3-7 SU, 5-4-1 ATS | OU 5-5

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games against the Calgary Stampeders as those teams renew acquaintances on Friday night. The Riders and the Stampeders will be meeting for the first time this season on Friday, with the teams splitting their four meetings 2-2 SU last season but Saskatchewan holding the slight 2-1-1 ATS edge. The UNDER has paid out in each of the last two games between the Riders and the Stampeders on the CFL odds.

Edmonton at Toronto

Last 10 Meetings: Toronto 4-6 SU, 4-6 ATS | OU 7-3

The OVER has paid out in each of the last four games between the Toronto Argonauts and the Edmonton Eskimos with those teams set to meet for the second time this season on Saturday afternoon. The Eskimos have already beaten the Argonauts once this season, winning 41-27 and covering the 7-point spread at home in an OVER result back on August 23. The Argonauts went 2-0 SU and 1-1 ATS against the Eskimos in two OVER results last season.

B.C. at Hamilton

Last 10 Meetings: Hamilton 4-6 SU, 7-3 ATS | OU 7-2-1

The B.C. Lions picked up a SU victory and a slim cover against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in their first meeting of the season as the teams hit the gridiron together once again on Saturday night. B.C. topped Hamilton 36-29 as a 6.5-point home favorite in an OVER result on August 8, improving them to 4-1 SU but just 2-3 ATS in their last five meetings. The OVER has paid out on the totals in Lions vs. Tiger-Cats matchups four times in their five most recent meetings.

Louisville is on road for third time in four weeks; they outgained Wake Forest 421-100 last week but only won 20-10- they're 4-6-1 in last 11 games as a road favorite, losing 23-21 at Virginia three weeks ago. ACC underdogs are 6-4 vs spread in conference games, 2-1 at home. Syracuse allowed 65 points in losing last two games to Maryland/Notre Dame; they're 8-15-1 as home dog since '07. Cardinals won three of last four series games but lost two of last three visits here, getting whacked 45-26 in last visit in '12.

Fresno State beat San Diego State 52-40/35-28 last two years, winning LY despite Aztecs outgaining them 507-341; Bulldogs are 8-5 as home favorites under DeRuyter; they had good win at New Mexico last week, but allowed 52+ points in losing first three games to BCS teams. Aztecs are 10-6 in last 16 games as road dog, 5-4 under Long; they're 0-2 away from home this year, losing by 4-10 at North Carolina/Oregon St.- they are 12-4-1 vs spread in last 17 conference games.

Utah State QB Keeton is out for year; Aggies lost 11 of last 12 games vs BYU, last three by 3-3-17 points. Underdogs covered last six games in series. State lost last seven visits here, covered last three. State was 14-2 as road dog when Anderson was coach here but 1-4 since he left- they're 0-2 on road this year, losing 38-7 (+4.5) at Tennessee, 21-14 last game at Arkansas State (+1.5). BYU is 4-0, scoring 33+ points in every game vs decent schedule; they're 14-10 in last 24 games as home favorite, 0-2 so far this year, winning both home games by eight points.

Winnipeg (6-7) @ Ottawa (1-11)—RedBlacks’ first game was 36-28 (+3.5) loss at Winnipeg in Week 2, when Ottawa led 21-17 at half, then scored only 7 second half points. RedBlacks lost last nine games (3-6 vs spread), but in only three of those games did they trail by more than 5 points at the half- they’re 1-5 at home, 3-3 as home underdogs. Ottawa scored 8-7-5-7 points in its last four home games. Winnipeg lost last four games and six of last seven after a 5-1 start; they’re 3-3 SU on road, despite being underdog in all six games. They’re 2-2 vs spread when favored. Week 6 vs Roughriders was only game Ottawa outscored its opponents in second half. Five of last six Ottawa games stayed under total.

Calgary (11-2) @ Saskatchewan (9-4)—First meeting of season between rivals who will see lot of each other in next few weeks; Saskatchewan beat Calgary 35-13 in LY’s playoffs as they marched to Grey Cup title, just their third win in last 12 series games. Stampeders lost last two visits to Taylor Field 30-25/36-21 after winning last four visits before that; they’ve won seven of last eight games overall, with 31-15 loss at Montreal two weeks ago their only loss in six road games (5-1 as road favorite). Roughriders are 5-1 at home, with only loss to BC in Week 3; they’re switching to former Texas Tech QB Doege as they try to end recent 1-2 slide, with win in OT over Ottawa.

Edmonton (9-4) @ Toronto (4-8)—Argos lost four of last five games, one of which was 41-27 (+7.5) loss at Edmonton six weeks ago; Eskimos had five takeaways, ran ball for 152 yards in game they led 31-10 at the half. Win snapped Toronto’s 3-game series win streak, but Argos have lost four of last six visits here. This is first Toronto home game in five weeks; they’re 2-2 at home, and were underdog in three of those games. Eskimos are 2-3 in last five games after 7-1 start, losing last two road games, allowing 28-25 points at Calgary/Hamitlon; they’re 0-3 vs Edmonton, 9-1 vs everyone else. Five of six Edmonton road games stayed under total; three of last four Toronto games went over total.

BCLions (7-6) @ Hamilton (6-7)- TiCats won last four games after 2-7 start, winning last two weeks by combined total of 7 points; they’ve won last four games in their new stadium after losing two of first three there. Hamilton (+6.5) lost 36-29 at BC in Week 7, giving up 407 passing yards in game they led 19-17 at half. Lions won four of last six visits here; lost last two games overall, allowing 326 rushing yards; they’re 4-2 on road, with only losses 24-9 at Montreal, 14-7 at Calgary last week. Seven of last ten series games went over total, but five of last six BC games and five of last seven TiCat games stayed under. All four CFL games last weekend had totals of 27 or less points, kind of unusual.

Giants are in playoffs for third time in last five years; they won World Series in 2010/2012. Giants won four of last five games overall, but lost five of last seven road games.

Washington won 13 of its last 16 games, eight of last 11 at home; they're in the playoffs for second time in three years, after not making it since they were the Montreal Expos back in 1981.
