We have always felt that whenever a team loses a star player other players join in and come together as a squad and play well. Such is the case here with both Durant and Westbrook out and you saw OKC come together as a team and they beat Denver outright at home as 4.5 point underdogs (we also believe that Denver will be ticked off from this loss and will likely do well against Sacramento today as well who comes off a big win against the Clippers Outright on the road and the Blazers at home). Per this contest, you have a OKC team that has rallied around and come together as they put up over a 100 points on a fairly good defensive team in Denver who is a much better defensive team than years' past. Combine that with Brooklyn playing a much more higher pace this year behind their coaching staff and their wing players and you have the makings of a high paced game here. Sure, there are those who believe that with no Durant and Westbrook a game likely goes under but that's not how models and historical data driven data works. Keep in mind when star players go out, we have always beleived games go over the posted total and that was one of the reasons why we went 94-62 for +12,890 for the #1 NBA Season in the country last year. There are certain models and trends we believe strong in such as Toronto being an active underdog against the Heat yesterday. Look for OKC to be a fantastic underdog here on the road against the Nets and as only a 7 point underdog they very well could win Outright but more importantly, they step up here as a quality underdog and this contest likely goes over the posted total. The Over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings between these two teams and the Over is 6-1 in the last 7 games following a straight up win for the Nets as well.

The Boston Celtics may have created some false hopes with their season opening victory, but they met a quick harsh reality in game two where they were ousted 104-90 in Houston in a game that wasn't nearly as close as the final score. Dallas took a narrow loss to San Antonio in their opener, but have gone on to win two straight since, and have reached the century mark in all three games. The Mavs may be a bit flat here for this one as they leave for their next game in Portland, followed by Utah, and then back home against Miami. Boston will not get their attention, and there is enough depth on the Boston roster to get a player or two hot, and keep this one at arms length, or a back door cover. The Mav's have proven to lay down at home vs. a team with a losing road record, now at 1-5 ATS in their last six. The Celts may have lost the last four here, but they are 7-2 ATS here in their last nine. Too many points, make the play on Boston.
