First meeting between these clubs this young season. The Mavs won 2 of 3 vs Portland last season, including a (108-106) win AT Portland. Dallas SG Monta Ellis hit a game winning buzzer beater to defeat Portland. These Mavs come into tonight’s game on a 3 game win streak & they had the last 2 days off to prepare for Portland. They’re coming off a 5 pt HOME win over the Celtics (a game in which they blew a 31 pt lead and had to hang on to win by 5 points & blow the cover). The Trail Blazers are coming off a 19 pt blow-out home win over Cleveland their last game on Tuesday night. This is the Blazers 3rd game of their 3 game home-stand (1-1 SU & ATS) so far & the Blazers head out to play AT the Clippers on Saturday night. It should be noted that this Portland club has failed to cover 5 straight games, following a win of double digits. The Mavs have covered 6 of the L/7 meetings AT Portland & the OVER has cashed in 5 of the L/7 these clubs have met. It also should be noted that the OVER is (11-1 L/12) Mavs games when they play on 2 days rest. I REALLY like the two very key additions these Mavs added this off-season. Tyson Chandler is flat out one of the best defensive big men in the game & Chandler Parsons continue to be one of the games most UNDER-rated all-around players. I also believe that Mavs head-coach Rick Carlisle is one of the 3 best coaches in the entire NBA. The ‘very early sharp money’ is on the Mavs here & I happen to agree with the Mavs side (+2 or more).
Game: Edmonton Oilers @ Boston Bruins
Time: Thursday 11/06 7:05 PM Eastern
Pick: Game Total UNDER 5.5 (-145) at Bovada
There hasn't been a lot to cheer about for this Edmonton team, especially on the road. Edmonton has struggled to score when they hit the highway as a big dog over the last couple of seasons. They have averaged 1.8 goals per contest in their road losses to a line of +180 or more. It will be difficult to get that turned around tonight in Boston as the Bruins have been air tight in their first two games on this home stand, allowing a total of 3 goals to much more proficient scoring teams. The Oilers have played six straight to the UNDER vs. a winning team, and own a 32-15-4 mark to the UNDER vs. the Atlantic, which includes 5-2 to the UNDER in heads-up meetings with Boston. The Bruins come in on a day of rest where they have seen just one of their last 10 in that situation make it OVER the total. Play on the UNDER in this one.
My 1,000♦ Winner is the CINCINNATI BENGALS in their AFC North clash with the Cleveland Browns. And as of 1:30 a.m. pacific time, when I'm posting this play online, I see the point spread here is -6 points. Don't be surprised if this line takes off, so be sure you're buying the half point down no matter what the line is, if it's 6, 6' or 7. DO NOT GET BEAT BY THE HOOK!
50 Dime Winner for Thursday is the Cleveland Browns plus the points. At 7:00 am eastern time, the Browns are +6 1/2 point dogs both in Vegas and offshore. Note, if your line is +6 1/2 or +7 points, I want you to buy the half-point up on Cleveland
