6-Unit NBA Game of the Week #501 Take Denver/Cleveland OVER 216.5 (7 p.m. EST, Monday)
We know the bookies are afraid to post too-high totals this early in the season, but this total should really be in the 220s. Cleveland has been playing like the best offensive team in the league the last four games, including one against these Nuggets where they scored 110 in Denver, and they go again tonight against one of the worst defenses in the league, and Denver comes in on a back-to-back, which will mean their pathetic defense will probably be worse than normal. We think the Cabs have a great chance to go 120+ here, which would mean we would likely cash this ticket even in a blowout scenario. The Nuggets have given up 110 or more in six of their last seven games, and Portland and Sacramento rang up 130 and 131, respectively. Don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that the Cavs have that kind of night here, especially since these teams just played recently. The Boston defense is allowing similar numbers to this Denver team, and Cleveland just scored 122 on them last week. They scored 127 and 118 against Atlanta and New Orleans, respectively, and those teams are much better defensively than Denver. The Nuggets will bring a fast pace in this game, and that plays right into the Cavaliers hands here.
