MAC Championship Game25 UnitsBall State (-15) over Buffalo
8:00 PM -- MAC Championship Game - Ford Field - Detroit, MI
Ball State by 21-24
TV: ESPN2 Comments: I have a great deal of respect for Buffalo (7-5) and the job coach Turner Gill has done in putting the Bulls on the map. But, with that said, the overall talent differential between Buffalo and undefeated Ball State (12-0) is dramatic. Both have excellent quarterbacks—Buffalo with Drew Willy who has thrown 18 touchdown passes and just five interceptions in the past 18 games and Ball State with Nate Davis who has completed just under 70% of his passes this season for more than 3,000 yards and 25 touchdowns, with just six interceptions—but after that Ball State has every edge. Buffalo has beaten teams this season while Ball State has destroyed them. In the statistical department, Ball State has averaged 37.7 points per game while giving up 16.7. Buffalo has averaged 30.2 points per outing while giving up 27.8. With all due respect my figures say Buffalo can fire its best shot and still not keep it close.

NBA Game Of The Week25 UnitsPistons (-8) over Sixers
8:00 PM -- The Palace of Auburn Hills
Detroit by 12-13
Comments: Detroit (11-6) appears to have all the edges in this one. It is playing its best basketball of the season and is meeting a Philadelphia (8-11) team that has lost five of its last six and will be without leading scorer and rebounder Elton Brand (16.7 points and 10.0 rebounds per game) who is out with a strained right hamstring.

6:35:00 PM NEW JERSEY NETS (-6.5)
over Minnesota Timberwolves
ASA 4-Star NJ Nets (-6.5) over Minnesota Timberwolves - 6:35 pm CST
Tonight we side with the Nets at home over the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves. We played against the Nets on Tuesday night as they were in a bad spot at home against the Wizards coming off an extended West coast road trip. It obviously paid off as the Wizards won 108-88. But tonight you’ll see a different Nets team as they are rested and ready. In fact, I’m betting you’ll see the same Nets team that won three straight road games at Phoenix, Utah and Sacramento prior to Tuesday night. Vince Carter had this to say about tonight’s game against the Wolves. "It's not a must-win," Carter cautioned, "It's just, we need to win. We're trying to establish ourselves and we're good enough to where, if we play like that (Tuesday), we can bounce back. So, it's an opportunity, and hopefully we'll respond." While not necessarily a huge game so early in the season, this is a litmus test for the 9-8 Nets and their overall progress this year. But the only valid reason they could have for losing at home to the Timberwolves tonight -- after a day off, a full day of practice Thursday, and four nights in their own beds -- would be that the Nets are just not that good, or they just don't care. I’m confident that’s not the case though as I’ve watched the Nets play and they seem to be jelling as a team with Vince Carter and Devin Harris leading the way. "If we don't come up with the energy in the next game," Carter warned, "then it's a problem." Another quote from head coach Lawrence Franks, "All I know is, if we don't give our best effort, then we don't give ourselves a chance.” "It's very cut and dried. We have to play with a ton of passion, energy, emotion. We've got to attack. If we don't do those things, we're going to struggle. And defensively we have to make improvement." New Jersey is being led by former Wisconsin Badger Devin Harris who came to the Nets via a trade with Dallas for Jason Kidd. **Side note: Mark Cuban has to be kicking himself for that deal.** Harris is averaging over 24 ppg on the year and has scored 30+ points in 6 of the last eleven games he’s played in. As a guard he is shooting nearly 49% from the field which is outstanding to say the least. Minnesota will try to contain Harris and Carter but they really don’t have anyone that can stop them. The T’Wolves will also struggle offensively tonight as Mike Miller is questionable with an ankle injury. Even if Miller can go he won’t be 100%. The T’Wolves are coming off a pair of road losses at Charlotte and Orlando and they are just 2-7 SU away on the season. In their most recent road loss the Wolves were down by 20-points after the 3rd quarter before the Magic bench let them make the final score respectable with a 9-point margin. Minnesota shot just 41% for the game while allowing the Magic to hit nearly 57%. The Nets have won 7 of the last 8 meetings with the Timberwolves at home and they’ll get a double digit win at the IZOD Center tonight.

9:35:00 PM 0 GOALS(0) EDMONTON OILERS
-vs- Los Angeles Kings
Scott Rickenbach’s NHL 1* (regular play) Edmonton Oilers Money Line (+) @ Los Angeles @ 10:35 PM ET – The Oilers have revenge on their minds here. The Kings beat them in Edmonton last Wednesday and the Oilers get a shot to return the favor here tonight by beating Los Angeles in their own barn! Edmonton has won two of three since the loss to the Kings as the Oilers defeated the Blues in St Louis and got a big home win over the Stars. In between, Edmonton did lose at Dallas but that game showed how resilient the Oilers are right now as they battled back from a 3-0 deficit on the road to tie up the Stars. Even though Dallas won the game 4 to 3 on a late Modano goal, that effort is what gave the Oilers a lot of momentum heading into their home game versus Dallas on Wednesday. Edmonton also brought Mathieu Garon back between the pipes for that game and the performance of the former #1 goalie coupled with how well the Oilers played all facets of the game in a 5 to 2 win, gives Edmonton a ton of momentum for tonight’s match-up. As for the Kings, things haven’t been going so well. Over the last three weeks, Los Angeles played eight games other than the win at Edmonton. In those eight games, the Oilers went just 2-5-1. The five regulation losses came by a combined total of twelve goals as the Kings haven’t just been losing they’ve been getting roughed up. With this being revenge game for Edmonton, we look for more of the same tonight as the Oilers come in hungry (from the home loss to LA) and confident (from the blowout win over Dallas Wednesday). Add it all up and we’re getting great line value with the Oilers on the road here. Play Edmonton on the money line as a regular selection.

(POD): Take Over 213.5 between Los Angeles Lakers @ Washington Wizards (Friday December 5th @ 7pm).
Going for #6 in a row in College Football Saturday PODs.
I think this game's total might have been the biggest move off-shore as it relates to the total. It took a striking jump up as Washington might be expected to be competitive as they come off a big win against the Nets on the road. They return home to face a Laker team that just put up 114 at Philly. I have a rule never to bet against the Lakers but I think the total is worth a look here. The bottom line here is that the Wizards have new coaching and they are beginning to respond. This team just went on the road to beat a New Jersey team that had come off defeating the Suns on the road, the Jazz on the road and the Kings in overtime. Folks, that shows a lot of prowess - a lot. Thus, they play a Lakers team at home and I believe they get up for this game as Caron Butler faces his old squad and win or lose, cover or no cover ATS wise, there are plenty of incentives to score a lot of points and to score if oten. Besides, I think Washington likely covers this game and is an active dog, but more importantly, I think this game goes over. The Lakers have goen over the last 5 games and the over is 10-4 between these two teams out of the last 14 games, not to mention the over is 21-5 fro the Wiz when facign the NBA Pacific.
Take L.A. Clippers -1 over Memphis Grizzlies (Friday December 5th @ 8pm). Let me tell you something, the Clippers are good. I made a mistake by going against them when they faced Dallas and you saw what Dallas did to Phoenix the other night. The Clippers with the addition of Zach Randolph are a very dynamic team. This would explain why they lost by just 1 point to the Nuggets at home, or why they beat the Heat at home, or why they should have beat the Mavs outright on the road or even why they were so competitive against the Rockets. This team is solid with Thornton, Davis and Randolph and when Kaman comes back this team will be even more dynamic. If the Grizzlies can't even beat the OKC Thunder at home, than how are they going to beat a Clippers team that is playing solid basketbal and is rejuvinated with the re-emergence of Zach Randolph. I will gladly take the Clippers in this game as they have far more veteran play with Davis and Randolph to get it done as comared with the young guns of the Grizzlies who still have yet to develop fully.
Take Indiana Pacers +11 over the Cleveland Cavaliers (Friday December 5th @ 7pm). Cleveland is romping teams and NY felt the grunt of that most recently. Interestingly enough this total has actually dropped a point since its opening, and Cleveland beat this team by 4 earlier this year on the road. Indiana of course does have revenge coming into this game and note that Cleveland comes off a huge high thumping NY so the public could be googling over this team but Indiana was actually competitive against Boston before falling apart - but they did beat the Lakers at home which shows that they are a very capable team and is typically a good bounce-back team. I think the Pacers are in a good bounce-back spot here today and hang tough. The bottom line is I like the Pacers on a bounce-back, with revenge as this year's Pacers are 4-0 ATS coming off a loss of 10 points or more.
Take Fairfield -14 over St. Peter's (Friday, December 5th @ 8:30pm).. It is always key to take a look at which team is opening at home and Fairifeld plays their home opener today. This team has high expectations coming off a big win over Holy Cross on the road, they beat American and Chattanooga comfortably on neutral footing. Yes, this team was blown out by Virginia Tech and Missouri, but that was expected. Keep in mind that St. Peter is 1- 4ATS overall while Fairfield blows out the teams thaey are supposed to as they are 5-0 ATS when playing teams with a losing record. This tream kicks off things in a big way at home as they had nearly five players in double-digits in their last game at home against Holy Cross and had a total of 13 plays who saw action. This is a deep time that I think will have a great showing at home against St. Peter who will undoubtedly get a bit tired from seeing fresh legs through the course of the entire game.
