On Friday the free play is on The Cleveland Cavaliers. Game 809 at 7:35 eastern. The Caves will seek revenge for a 17 point blowout home loss to Toronto 2 weeks ago. Toronto an all NBA Rested home favorites that scored 120 or more in a -4 or less road favored win have failed to cover 80% of the time vs an opponent like The Cavs that were on the road and also favored in their last game. The Cavs squeaked past a game Knicks team last night. Toronto has played well without Derozan, and this will be the first game they really get tested. Take the Points with Cleveland. On Friday there are 5 big plays up. Two in College led by a 100% Total system and the Big MAC Conference Power system play. Football remains ranked #1 and swept the board on Thursday. 7-Unit Play. Take #810 Toronto (-4) over Cleveland (7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5)
This one is a blowout! Toronto is one of the best teams in basketball and they are one of the best teams at home in the NBA. They are going to be very excited about Lebron James coming to town. The Cavs are not going to be excited after playing in New York City last night. I had this spread as -7 and I think it is short. The Raptors blew out the Cavaliers in the first matchup back on Nov. 22. That game was in Cleveland and Toronto won by 17! They are even better at home with the crowd behind them. The Raptors had last night off while the Cavs had to hold off the Knicks and Cleveland is just 3-6 ATS in its last nine games. I love this matchup and I like this number. I have my money down on Toronto for a big win.
3-Unit Play. Take #803 Oklahoma City (-12.5) at Philadelphia (7:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5)
Kevin Durant returned on Tuesday, scored 27 points, looked like the MVP he is, and the thunder lost. The Thunder are in Philly tonight which is the first of 4 against the Eastern Conference. Great time for the Sixers to be on the schedule for OKC. They have beaten Philly 10 straight times, are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 meetings in the city of brotherly love, and 6-0 ATS overall in their last 6 against the 76ers. Oklahoma City had had 3 days to get some things ironed out and should be at full strength for only the second time this season. Their 5-13 record is about to start looking a lot different. Philadelphia is riding high after winning their first game on Wednesday in Minnesota. They most definitely circled the Minnesota game as one they could get so a letdown tonight is inevitable. Michael Carter-Williams and KJ McDaniels have played great in the last couple weeks and should continue to get heavy minutes moving forward. Philly avoided setting a record with a win against the Twolves but they won't be able to avoid their 11th straight home loss tonight becoming the first team to do so since the 2003-04 Magic. The Thunder are going to start to roll and tonight is the first step. Lay the points. Take OKC and Durant.
2-Unit Play. Take 'Under' 207.5 Cleveland at Toronto (7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5)
When the Raptors took down the Cavs a couple weeks ago it was Cleveland's 4th loss a row and their fans were in full panic mode. 5 wins in a row and that panic is gone. This is shaping up to be an Eastern Conference finals preview, with apologies to the Wiz, which a lot of experts saw coming from the start of the season. The Raps are scoring at an alarming rate of 109.7 points per game, good for 2nd in the NBA, and the Cavs are just outside of the top 10 (11th) with 102.9. Both teams do a pretty good job holding teams under the century mark on the defensive end and the total has been under in 20 of the last 26 games in Toronto. This is Lebron and company's 3rd game in 4 nights and the Knicks gave them all they could handle last night so they are going to be a little tired. Toronto hasn't played since disposing of the Jazz and Kings earlier in the week so they will be happy to be home. It isn't going to be a surprise if both teams come out with something to prove and this will definitely be a battle until the final horn. Both teams will get enough stops to keep each other under 100. Raptors 99-90.
2-Unit Play. Take #802 Washington (-4) over Denver (7:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5)
The Wiz are on their 4th game of a 4 game homestand and have gone 3-0 so far. They are going to give a great effort tonight to try and finish this stand right at 4-0. Bradley Beal looks to be fully healed from early season dings and has been playing at a very high level. Teaming him with the constant John Wall and Marcin Gortat combo Washington is looking like a top 3 Eastern Conference team. The biggest reason for their success has been improved defense holding opponents to 87 ppg. Denver dropped a heart breaker on Tuesday to Portland 105-103. They have really righted the ship since starting the season 1-6 and have a record of 9-9. They have had their struggles against Washington going 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings overall and 1-4 in their last 5 meetings in DC. This should be an entertaining game to watch and hsoul dbe competitive until the end. The Wizards will have enough to hold off the nuggets here. Washington 100-92.
