The Houston Cougars enjoyed an up and down season this past year and now they will look forward to one more good effort. The Cougars, who were 7-5 on the year with a 5-3 inter division record, will be heading out to play at the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl against Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh Panthers were 6-6 on the year while also splitting all of their games within the ACC. The Cougars are 11th in the league in defensive prowess as they are only allowing 19.5 points per game on the year. The Cougars play grind 'em out games by focusing on shutting down opposing playmakers. The Cougars are only averaging 29 points per game. Houston likes to move the ball on the ground, primarily. As a team the Cougars rack up around 200 yards per contest. Kenneth Farrow leads the team in rushing. Cougars are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 non-conference games. Most non conference opponents take this conference and teams too lightly. This game will show that. TAKE HOUSTON

Perfect Play---Iowa
The Hawkeyes just barely escaped the Big 10 with an above-.500 record this season, while the Volunteers couldn't manage to get off the ground. Nevertheless, the two teams face off in the TaxSlayer Bowl on Friday with both squads looking to close out the year strong. You don't need to look far to know who Iowa's best player is. Junior quarterback Jake Rudock has had a great year, with nearly 2500 passing yards along with 16 touchdowns and just 5 interceptions. His arm strength and game management have helped four different Hawkeye wide receivers catch for over 300 yards and 2 touchdowns. He's a great ball distributor: no Hawkeye has more than 50 receptions. The Big Ten started off bowl season in good way and think it continues in new year as Iowa finds a way to win this one. With Ohio St winning last night this also show the depth of the Big 10 as being underrated. Coach Faerentz has been great covering in bowl games and think he is the difference in this one. Young Vols team will show nice improvement with the extra bowl practices but turnovers cost them again in this one. TAKE IOWA
