6-Unit Play. Take #108 Indianapolis (-3) over Cincinnati (1 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 4)
I just cannot trust Andy Dalton in the playoffs. Wether this game is at home or on the road, he just hasn’t proven that he can handle the pressure of the big stage. Yes, this Bengals team is good, they may even better than the Colts, but this is the playoffs, and Dalton just seems to fall apart. Cincinnati is 0-5 ATS in their last five playoff games, and 0-4 ATS in their last four January games. Indianapolis meanwhile is 5-0-1 ATS in their last six home games versus teams with winning records, 20-6-1 ATS in their last 27 home games, and 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 games versus the AFC. The home field advantage will be big in this one as Dalton will turn the ball over, it will lead to earsy Indy points, and it will allow the crowd to get involved at a level that will give the Bengals fits. Mohammed Sanu has completely fallen off over the course of the last four-five weekends, and this is going to be an issue with AJ Green being less than 100 percent. The Colts are going to be able to slow down the passing attack of the Bengals and they will be able to turn most of their focus to slowing down Bernard and Hill. Look for this game to be a battle throughout, but for another late turnover out of Andy Dalton to be the difference. Colts win 27-20.
