Analysis: I’d have probably been OK w/the BetOnline opener of 134.5. This one din’t require over thinking at all. Most of LSU’s totals are highe because of the pace they play, but on the road A & M should dictate, or at least try, and they play very slow. The two met at LSU where the Tigers are more likely to dictate and scored 131. With that in mind, you’d think this would be too easy, but I can’t hesitate. Both teams have Top 50 defenses, and niether one spends much time at the line, and when they do they’re just not that good. A & M love to play inside, which is where LSU’s serious length advantage will (should) come into play. Another thing I really love here is that LSU has a tendency to get slopypy with the ball, and a few turnovers to the Aggies that slows the pace can only help. Neither team takes very many three’s so the “scoring in bunches” doesn’t seem like a scenario that works here. The on downside is if it’s close there could be FT’s late, but we can’t predict that. In Conference play LSU’s interior defense is number one. The Aggies lost to A & M in Baton Rouge (hence the probability that this line is where it is and not a little higher) but there is just no chance that A & M tries to run with a much bigger and quicker team. IN the previous game there were a total of 22 FT’s taken. LSU shot an inordinate amount of three’s for them (hence they lost – so that shouldn’t happen again. The Aggies held LSU to a mere 8 points over the final 10:00 or so. Bottom line, unless there’s a huge flurry late or it goes to OT, I don’t see it.Comment
