Analysis: At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Carolina Hurricanes over the Philadelphia Flyers. Which version of the Flyers will show up tonight in Raleigh? Will it be the version that just notched back-to-back, one-goal victories over the Nashville Predators and Washington Capitals, or will it be the version that lost to the Blue Jackets and Sabres in the two previous games? Well since all four of those games were at home, and tonight they are on the road, we’re going to say that the version that lost those two games is the one that shows up here. The fact is that Philadelphia is much worse when playing the role of visitors as the Flyers are a dismal 9-21 this season on the road vs. 17-13 at home and Carolina has been pretty good here lately, winning six of its last 10 games at PNC Arena. The Flyers may have dodged a bullet when #2 center Sean Couturier received a knee-on-knee hit in the Capitals game on Sunday and had to leave the ice but was able to return. But Couturier is listed as questionable for this evening and the Flyers likely won’t take any unnecessary chances with their young (22 YO) star and former first round pick. The ‘Canes are 5-1 in the last six meetings and the home team is 6-3 in the last nine. Take Carolina.Comment
