“2 UNIT” EARLY COLLEGE LINETRACKER SIDE (Dayton +3 versus Virginia Commonwealth in a 1:10 eastern tipoff televised on CBS): For those who have followed this year’s reconfigured Atlantic-10 Conference draw you know that most of the schools have been “bunched up” near the top of the standings as there has been no clear favorite. Davidsone entered this postseason tournament as both a top-seed along with a number 25 overall national ranking but proved in both appearances that they were “not” ready to step up to a tougher league as they used to dominate the Southern Conference. While barely surviving in the quartefinals Davidson yesterday was drilled by Virginia Commonwealth in a 93-73 rout. Due to that rout and the team having a popular head coach Virginia Commonwealth has gone from a virtual “pick em” (opening offshore line) all the way up to a 3 point favorite which to me is too steep of a “spike”. My research indicates that dating all the way back to the 1997 campaign when off consecutive games where they made at least 10 different “treys” from long range Virginia Commonwealth (4-14 ATS) has actually been a bet “against”. I am aware that Virginia Commonwealth has lost the Atlantic 10 Championship tilt in consecutive seasons and are in revenge against today’s opponent but line move offshore has been too steep
