San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Angeles Clippers UNDER 205

This is a HUGE game for both teams. Sorry for stating the obvious but this is a big reason for the play. This should have the intensity of a Game 7 and it all starts with the defense. Both teams got over the century mark last game so I believe both teams will have a strong emphasis on defense. We all know Pop is the best coach making adjustments and he'll come up with a great defensive game plan after the miserable defensive performance last game. The Spurs are 7-3 to the under when allowing 100+ points the previous game.

As for the Clippers, they are trending to the under in almost every trend category. They have gone under the total in 5 of their last 6 home games and 7 of the last 10 games overall have gone under. A big key stat for this game is that L.A. is 6-2 to the under when scoring 100+ the previous game and 11-5 to the under after allowing 100+ points. Another positive for us under bettors is that Barnes and Griffin are nursing injuries so this should effect their offensive performances.

This series has shown that both teams can really step it up defensively when they want to. For the most part, this has been a lower scoring series, especially at the Staples Center, as one of the games went over due to overtime. Expect a lower scoring, defensive struggle tonight as the magnitude of this game could effect the offensive side of the ball drastically.

I’ll take the points with San Antonio tonight in what should be a dandy. This is generally when the Spurs are the most dangerous-off a loss-as they showed in game #2 after losing the opener to the Clippers. San Antonio has won six straight game #5 victories the last two years and they are 15-1 in game #5 during their five title seasons. Meanwhile the Clippers since returning to the playoffs in 2012 are 1-7 in games #5 and #6. Nobody is better at making the adjustments off a loss than Coach Popovich. Look for Tony Parker to have more impact on tonight’s outcome. Parker scored 18-points in game #4 after being held to just 5.7 points per game in the first three contests on 25 percent shooting while playing with Achilles tightness. The Spurs are 34-19 ATS off an upset loss as a favorite the past three seasons. After a shootout the Clippers have really struggled going 4-13 ATS at home after a combined 215 or more points scored this season. It was all about shooting in game #4. The clippers shot 53.6 percent, their highest of the series, while the Spurs hot 44 percent, their lowest since game #1. The Spurs are 19-7 ATS off a home loss the last three seasons. I will back them here as a 3* regular. I highly doubt J.J. Redick goes 6-of-12 tonight being guarded by Kawhi Leonard, the defensive player of the year. Redick was 10-of-32 in the first three games. Redick along with Jamal Crawford and Austin Rivers killed the Spurs on Sunday with a combined 82-points. I think it’s highly unlikely they get anywhere near that tonight.
