There is too much at stake here for the Hawks with the sale of the team, a team that has built a tradition of winning and it took a terrible game overall from the bench for the Hawks to lose. Look for the Hawks and starters to stay on the court much more than an average of 18 minutes per this contest as they will quickly make the adjustment here as the Hawks starters dominated against the Wizards when they were all on the floor but struggled in the waning moments of the game when the full starting crew was not out there. The Hawks have been great on bounce-backs this year, have been a focused team all year coming off a loss and this is a quality public fade to boot as note the line rather than 5.5 yesterday is -6 today and the public is taking the points but likely will take a hit here. The Hawks have won 64 games this year and that’s not by accident. The Wizards are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games coming off 1 days rest and if anything the Hawks could have used the loss to wake themselves up and remain focused the rest of this series.
We would not be a bit surprised if the Hawks won the next 3 games of this series, then lost Game 5 and then close things out in Game 6 as they meet the winner of the Cavs/Bulls series. The Wizards are still 1-4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams and the Hawks are 5-2 ATS after giving up a 100 points or more in their previous game.
