Williams Perez makes his first career start Wednesday night for the Braves and he has been awful in limited major league action. Perez was recalled from the minors May 6 and has yielded four runs over 2 innings in two relief appearances. He has a 15.43 ERA and has to face a Rays team that id hot and has won 10 of their last 12 interleague ballgames. Rays roll again in Hotlanta!

4 Unit Play. Take #924 Washington Nationals -140 over New York Yankees. (7:05 PM, Wednesday, May 20th) The Washington Nationals will look for their fifth straight win as they try and sweep a quick two game series from the Yankees at Nationals Park in Washington. The Nats came back from a four run deficit on Tuesday night and earned the win after Ryan Zimmerman’s two run walk-off homer in the 10th. Jordan Zimmermann will get the call on the hill tonight for the Nationals. He has been good this season, posting a 3-2 record with a 3.66 ERA. He hasn’t had a bad start since getting shelled by Boston back on April 13th and his unbeaten streak is now at five starts after he help San Diego to zero runs and six hit over six innings his last time out. Zimmermann will be opposed by Adam Warren, who gets the call for New York. He has been a bit of a smoke and mirrors pitcher this season, going 2-2 with a 4.50 ERA as he has only had one quality start on the season out of his seven turns. Usually numbers like that would lead to a few more losses but he has pitched out of jams all year long and that should regress to the norm sometime soon. The Nationals, who are now tied for first place in the NL East with the Mets, have been very good in the spot they are in here tonight. They are 7-2 in their last 9 games following a win and have won four straight against games started by a right handed pitcher. The Yankees, who have been a bit of a surprise this season, have actually struggled in the situation they are in here tonight as they are 1-6 in their last 7 road games against teams with a winning record and are winless in their last 5 against a righty. Throw in the fact that the Nats have won 5 in a row against teams from the AL East and we’ll lay the price with them at home tonight to beat the Yankees and extend their winning streak.
4 Unit Play. Take #905/906 Philadelphia Phillies vs. Colorado Rockies – Over 10 (8:40 PM, Wednesday, May 20th) We had a big play last night on the Phillies that came up a run short after they battled back from down three runs and then two runs and we’re going right back to Coors Field tonight for another shot at it. We won’t have the Phillies, however in this one as we see the value here on the over. Severino Gonzalez, who got the recall from AAA after an injury to Chad Billingsly will get the call on the mound for Philadelphia. He is 1-1 on the season with a 10.57 ERA and was a bit of a fly ball pitcher in the minors, which doesn’t play all that well at Coors Field. He will be opposed by youngster Eddie Butler, who will go for the Rockies. Butler started the season on the right foot, going 2-1 in April with a 3.27 ERA over four starts but he has hit a wall here in May as he has posted a 0-3 record with an ERA of 6.00. He’s also struggled at home in his young career, allowing 29 hits and 10 walks in 22 2/3 innings. Both these teams have trended to the over in the situation we have here tonight. The Phillies are 4-0-2 to the over in their last 6 games when listed as a road underdog and they have gone 12-5-3 to the over in their last 20 following a loss. The Rockies have been going over lately as well, mostly because they give up a ton of runs. They are 18-7-2 to the over when their opponent has a righty on the hill and are 6-2 to the over after allowing five or more runs in their last game. Throw in the fact that these two have gone over the posted total in five of their last six head to head meetings in Colorado and we’ll roll with that to happen again in a game where we see both starters struggling, allowing us to go over the total later in the game against the two bull pens.

3 Unit Play. Take #925/926 Milwaukee Brewers vs. Detroit Tigers – Over 8.5 -105 (7:05 PM, Wednesday, May 20th)
3 Unit Play. Take #927 Tampa Bay Rays -130 over Atlanta Braves (7:10 PM, Wednesday, May 20th)
