David Price is my selection tonight. Detroit (26-20) is 8-1 in Price's starts while Oakland (17-30) is 1-9 when facing a southpaw starter. The Tigers starter is 2-2 with a 3.69 ERA in seven career outings against Oakland. Oakland counters with starter Jesse Chavez (1-4, 2.89), whose 9.90 ERA against them is his third-highest against any opponent. Oakland has struggled all year and look for Price to end there small winning streak.

Lets back the Angels in this matchup. Matt Shoemaker (3-4, 6.29) has struggled this season. His opponent Despaigne (2-3, 6.11 ERA) moved back into the rotation after Brandon Morrow went on the disabled list May 3, then allowed 15 runs and 20 hits -- four homers -- over eight innings while dropping his first two starts. So both pitchers have been bad. The Padres have been outscored 24-0 over Odrisamer Despaigne's last three starts. The Angels at home is play here.

The Mets have really had the better of the Phillies this year. They have won six of the seven meetings and going back the Mets have won 23 of 30 games between these two teams. They have dominated the Phils and I expect more of the same here. The Mets are going with young Jacob deGrom and he has been great this season. He has just a 2.75 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP and is a real comer. Jerome Williams has been terrible for Philadelphia. He has a 1.60 WHIP and 5.44 ERA and can’t get anyone out. The Mets have been excellent at home this year and are 20-6 in their last 26 home games. I think they keep beating back the Phils and get this one today.

I will take a shot on the big underdog price here with the Rangers. They are playing their best baseball of the season. They have won six straight and have scored 40 runs in their last four games! They just added Josh Hamilton to the lineup and this team is getting healthy. I thought that this number should’ve been closer to +125 so there is nice value here on a small play.
