Win, lose or draw for the Cleveland faithful, they can think about what could have been if Kevin Love doesn’t have his shoulder torn off or if LeBron hits the key shot in regulation and Kyrie Irving doesn’t get hurt. Well, that’s history. And for all the guts Cleveland has shown, they will again try to buck up. The problem is they have very few options. They have played a short bench the entire season and now they are down to basically 7 guys and some are extremely tired and Iman Shumpert has issues. It would be tough for Coach Blatt to rely on the banged-up Shawn Marion or Mike Miller to save the day. Again, it will have to be a heroic effort from LeBron or Cleveland will have to try to save the season by winning Game 6. They say great leaders delegate. Maybe Steve Kerr learned a few things from Phil Jackson and Coach Popovich but the feeling is neither would have responded so quickly to the guy that edits videos, compiles the music playlists for practices, and rebounds for Steph Curry in the shoot-around. That is what Nick U’Ren does for the Warriors but in the early hours before game 4 he reviewed the Spurs Finals last year with LeBron and saw that when Popovich started Boris Diaw for Tiago Splitter the series changed. The kid suggested to bench Andrew Bogut, and to go small with Andre Iguodala. He shared it with assistant coach Luke Walton, who liked it, then sent it to Kerr and it worked. This game will again be about tempo. Cleveland will have to be poised early and hang in while the home crowd goes wild. But in the end, the Warriors depth will prevail and they will be shooting threes to extend the lead in the middle of the 4th quarter. GOLDEN STATE 106 – 87

vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (R. De La Rosa)
You can bet that Johnny Vander Meer’s record of two consecutive no-hitters is safe but Chris Heston should have a good chance at another big win. Heston had the imperfect game on Tuesday vs. the Mets as he allowed no hits and no runs while striking out 11 with his three hit batters keeping him from a perfect game. Arizona has a stronger offense than the Mets right now but they have been cold of late, averaging 3.3 runs per game. With Rubby De La Rosa on the hill for them, however, it may not matter. In his last three starts, Rubby has given up 20 runs on 25 hits with six (!) home runs in 15 innings. If it weren’t for injuries to their rotation, he almost certainly wouldn’t still be starting games and this could very well be his last.

vs. Colorado Rockies (J. De La Rosa)
We go against the other De La Rosa (no relation) here in Miami as Jose takes on the Marlins. Jose has been decent enough of late but he will face a tough test in a Marlins attack that excels vs. lefties (.299/.355/.492) team batting line vs. left-handers, good for 5.2 runs per game. Giancarlo Stanton is the major driving force here and he has simply been out of this world with 10 home runs and 17 RBI in the last 15 days with a .891 slugging percentage. He can’t do everything but you can’t really ask for more. The Rockies are always hard to trust on the road and this year is no different as they are scoring just 3.6 runs per game away from Coors Field. Most of the trouble Dan Haren has had with the Rockies came on the road and he won’t have to worry about that today.

Toronto Blue Jays (Estrada) at Boston Red Sox (E. Rodriguez)
Marco Estrada remains the unofficial home run chump as he is once again averaging almost a home run per start but has actually been solid lately, allowing eight earned runs over 20 innings. Of course much of that success comes from not allowing home runs (just one those starts) and this is a good chance to keep the good times going against a Boston offense that has not been successful vs. right-hand- ers. The Blue Jays offense has been carrying them lately but they might hit a bit of a speed bump in Eduardo Rodriguez who has been just a buzz saw in his three starts with a 0.44 ERA and a 0.72 WHIP with 21 strikeouts in 20.2 innings. His electric stuff gives us hope that he can hold down the Jays just enough.

Complimentary WNBA Pick for June 14th, 2015

Game: Tulsa Shock (607) @ San Antonio Silver Stars (608)
Time: Sunday 06/14 4:35 PM Eastern
Pick: San Antonio -2.5 (-110) at Bookmaker

First home game for San Antonio, facing a Tulsa team that is winless on the road. A young Tulsa team is focused on improving the offense, but it's come at cost of defense, ranked seventh in points allowed. In their lone road game they allowed 83 points and 45% shooting at Minnesota getting killed on the glass, 45-32. Worse news is that Shock leading scorer Odyssey Sims might not play with an injured left knee. Despite losing its first two on the road, San Antonio played very competitive, falling 76-71 to Phoenix and 72-69 to Atlanta. San Antonio is on a 5-1-1 ATS run, as well as 3-0-1 ATS at home. San Antonio is rested, 5-2 ATS playing on two days rest, so grab home court in their home opener. Play San Antonio.
