Double-dime bet – 967 PIT (+126) vs 968 KAN
Analysis: Rare meeting here as the Pirates come to the K to square off against the defending AL champion Royals. I say if we can get a starter having the kind of year veteran A.J Burnett is putting together we go for it. The wily veteran is sporting a sparkling 2.11 era and he has had success in the past against the Royals. Although to be candid the past had little to do with capping this game fellas. Those numbers came against an altogether different KC ball club. The Pirates are a stellar 9-1 in their last 10 games of interleague action against AL central opponents. I do like to delve into past history with these league crossing games. Some clubs, like the Rockies, just seem to struggle. I will admit Ventura can show flashes of brilliance but can also get rattled and it’s no state secret he is a work in progress when it comes to maturity. No, this is not a triple guys but I do see a legitimate double opportunity here with the Pirates who are desperately trying to chase down the Cardinals in the NL central race. I am willing to go Double Star and tag this as a Rabid Dog.
