    DOC SPORTS – MLB

4-unit Play Take Philadelphia Phillies/Chicago Cubs – UNDER 6.5 (4:05pm EST) This may be the last time we see Cole Hamels in a Philadelphia Phillies uniform. The trade rumors keep on heating up and there are loads of scouts watching every move that Hamels makes. He had probably his worst start of the season last time out, so I think we see a focused effort tonight from Hamels. With everyone watching, this game will have somewhat of a playoff-like atmosphere; or as close to it as you can get with the Phillies. The Cubs send the red hot Jake Arrieta to the hill. All Arrieta has done over his last six starts is go 5-0 with a 0.96 ERA and 44-7 K-BB ratio. Although with the way Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw have been pitching of late, Arrieta hasn’t gotten much attention. The fact is, he’s one of the top five pitchers in the National League. The wind looks to be blowing in today at Wrigley, so that’s a huge advantage for the pitchers. Not that either guy really needs it, but runs will certainly be hard to come by in this one. Take the UNDER.

      STRIKE POINT SPORTS – MLB

      4-Unit Play. Take #909 Milwaukee (+110) over Arizona (8:10 p.m., Saturday, July 24)
Milwaukee is already looking toward the future by trading away guys like Aramis Ramirez and restocking the farm system, but they already have a nice piece in place in Taylor Jungmann. Jungmann has won his last 3 starts allowing just one run in each while lasting at least 7 innings in all of them. He is 4-0 with a 2.25 ERA in 5 starts on the road this season going at least 6 innings in all of them and the only start he allowed more than 2 runs was in Colorado when he allowed 4, but picked up the win regardless. The Brewers have quietly won 18 of their last 26 games and Jonathan Lucroy is 6 for his last 12 after picking up 3 hits last night while Adam Lind is 5-8 with a home run and 2 doubles off Arizona starter Rubby De La Rosa. De La Rosa is 5-1 at home this year despite a 4.65 ERA but the Brewers were seeing the ball well against him on May 29th when he allowed 4 runs through 5 innings surrendering homers to Lind and Carlos Gomez. The Brewers are 5-1 in their last 6 road games versus a team with a losing home record while the Diamondbacks are 1-5 in their last 6 games as a home favorite.

3-Unit Play. Take Over 8 Toronto vs Seattle (4:10 p.m., Saturday, July 24)
Part of the question mark with this game is if Drew Hutchison is going to be able to pitch after getting pushed back the past two days with a bout of the flu. However, Hutchison has a 2-1 record on the road this season somehow with the fact that his ERA is 8.81 through 10 starts and that is when he was fully healthy. His offense has certainly helped him out with an average run support of 9.77 and I think the Blue Jays will be able to provide some runs against Seattle starter J.A. Happ. Happ will be making his first appearance against his former club and in his last 11 starts he is 1-4 with a 5.02 ERA. Happ has pitched well at home this year going 2-2 with a 2.66 ERA but he hasn’t been as sharp in nine day starts as he is 0-4 with a 6.39 ERA. Robinson Cano must have figured something out over the All Star break as he is batting .444 with 8 RBI’s over his last 7 contests and he hit a home run off Hutchison in last season’s 11-1 win at Safeco. The over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams in Seattle while the over is 8-1-1 in the Blue Jays last 10 road games versus a team with a losing home record and the over is 5-0 in the Mariners last 5 contests when the score 5 runs or more in their previous contest.

Scott Spreitzer | MLB Money Line Sat, 07/25/15 – 8:40 PM

        dime bet – 914 SDP (-140) vs 913 Miami
Analysis: I’m backing the SDG Padres on Saturday. It’s been a tale of two seasons for Padre starter Ian Kennedy. He struggled for a good chunk of 2015, but he’s posted a 2.68 ERA in his last seven starts, overall. He’s also picked up his game at PETCO, where he’s allowed just six earned runs and 25 base runners, with 23 strikeouts in his last four starts, spanning 24 IP, for a sizzling 2.25 ERA & 1.04 WHIP. Miami has been a disaster on the road this season with just 17 wins in 50 games. David Phelps has proven to be more than hittable on the road where he’s been saddled with a 4.47 ERA with just 31 strikeouts in 54 1/3 IP. Phelps has a hefty 7.67 ERA in his last five road starts, going 0-4 along the way. He’ll face a surging Matt Kemp, who has been tearing the cover off the ball lately for the Friars, who as a team, have discovered the long ball as of late. SDG enters on a 7-2 run at home against the Marlins, holding Miami to less than 2 rpg and a .204 BAA. Miami is on a 0-5 slide when Phelps starts on the road to go along with the 17-33 road mark mentioned above. Meanwhile, the Padres are on a 36-17 home chalk run.

I’m backing the Padres, my ‘Heavy Hitter’.

                  The Champ Picks – JM

Here are my personal pick(s) for today:

[MLB] 2* Star Pick: Cincinnati Reds (money line)

[MLB] 1* Star Pick: (Totals bet) Cincinnati vs Colorado vs Under 10.5

Note: The higher the star number, the more certain I am about the pick. I do not have a maximum star number limit. However, it is incredibly rare for me to have a play higher than 7 stars, but just keep in mind that there is no limit to the amount of stars I can attach to a pick. My star rating is based on the amount of inside info I have on the games being played. Over the years, the highest amount of stars I can remember having attached to a play is still much less than 10.
