RIVER CITY SHARPS
Los Angeles Angels (+130) Sale still getting love from the odds makers despite his 1-3 mark, 7.61 ERA over his last four starts. The White Sox have lost eight of 10 and now face Shoemaker, working on a 19-inning scoreless streak. Over his last six starts, he sports a 1.69 ERA and the Angels are the team with the motivation in this spot. Big value with the Angels as a road dog here.
Royals – TT Over 4 (-125) Looking for regression tonight from Boyd, who was really good in his Detroit debut. In Toronto, however, he was 0-2, 14.85 ERA and now faces one of the top home teams in MLB. The Royals are averaging 5.4 runs over their last 16 home games and have gone 13-3 at Kaufman in that span. Also like this play because of the disaster that is the Detroit bullpen…all adds up to a TT Over the number.
Baltimore Orioles (-115) O’s are trying to right the ship in hopes for a postseason push and we think Chen gets it done tonight vs. Seattle. This play more a fade of Nuno, who really hasn’t succeeded in the starting role (he’s a converted reliever) He was just 2-12, 4.29 ERA over his 24 starts last year and we like the motivated Orioles to hit him early in this one.
Washington Nationals (+120) This is a fade of the Dodgers as much as anything, forced to play Sunday night game in Pittsburgh and then fly across the country for tonight’s series opener with the Nats. Gonzalez is 4-0, 1.77 ERA over his last seven starts and we think the Nats getting away from home to take care of business may be a good thing. Value here with the road pup.Comment
