Here's the system bet for August 12:

Milwaukee {B} bet - This is an unofficial bet under the original system (does not pass the RPI filter)

Remember to bet on the +1.5 run line if it is offered, or the money line if it is not offered.

Make sure to observe the following Exterminator system guideline:

In the month of July and August: Only wager on qualifying {A} and {C} bets under the original MLB system, and risk 5% less than what you’d normally have. For example, if you’re a highly conservative bettor whose stake size per wager is 5% of your bankroll, then that means you can just choose to sit out of betting from July going forward. An average bettor would decrease his risk from 10% to 5%, and an aggressive risk taker would decrease that risk from 15% to 10%. You should bet that same percentage amount for all the {A} and {C} bets that qualified under the original MLB system.

Plus, pass on any series where the first game of a rematch series between the 2 teams happens more than 60 days after their most recent game (after the last game of the original 3-game series or the second game of an intermediate confirmatory 2-game series).

Also, please keep in mind the following filters of the system:

      - Do not bet on a team whose road record winning percentage is in the bottom 10% in the league if they are playing on the road

      - Play is only official if the RPI value of our team is no more than .015 lower than opponent's.

      - Play is only official if our team is not playing against a top 2 highest ranked RPI team

Note that the system plays are official only when they pass all the filters above. If they fail to pass any filter, then the play is considered unofficial.

      Regards,
      The "Champ" team

        RIVER CITY SHARPS – MLB

Baltimore Orioles (+115) Orioles coming off tough extra innings loss on Tuesday, get Iwakuma is what might be good spot. Last start, he logged career high 118 pitches and he has struggled in past in games following a high pitch count. He is also 0-2, 3.66 ERA vs. Baltimore, so we think the Orioles are a live dog in this spot.

Miami Marlins (+109) Conley making just his second ML start, but was pretty effective in first win over the Reds. We’ll side with the home team in the series finale.

Chicago White Sox (+110) Danks was an auto-fade earlier this year, but has pitched much better lately and with the White Sox again playing good baseball and heaney coming off a really rough start last out, we think the Southsiders get the sweep today.

St. Louis Cardinals (-115) Tremendous pitching matchup, but the value here is with the Cardinals at home at a low price. The Cardinals have won 16 of their last 18 home games and Wacha sports a 2-0, 1.82 ERA in four career starts vs. these Pirates.

SMART SPORTS INVESTMENTS – GEOFF WEIGEL

Risk 3.00 to win 2.29 [904] San Diego Padres -131 vs Cincinnati Reds- James Shields takes the bump for SD today, he comes in only giving up 8 ER total in his last 4 starts. The Reds have struggled on the road all season, winning just 4 of their last 12 on the road. SD is 6-1 in its last 7 home games against the Reds, the trends favor SD, and we will back Shields as the better pitcher in this matchup. The Safe pick in this game, is on the Padres.

Risk 4.00 to win 3.23 [926] San Francisco Giants -124 vs Houston Astros- The Astros are the surprise team of MLB this season, but they have struggled mightily on the road, barely imitating the powerful team they play at Home. Houston comes in just 1-8 overall in their last 9 games, playing today against last seasons World Series Champions who are 31-23 at their home ballpark. The Giants conversely are 8-1 at home in their last 9, and I like rookie Chris Heston (11-6 3.48 ERA) to bounce back from back to back shaky outings, and get SF back on track. Houstons road woes continue, and the smart $ is on the Giants in this early game.

Risk 3.00 to win 2.52 [927] Boston Red Sox -119 vs Miami Marlins- Been following baseball this season? Then you know by now that fading the Fish, has been a smart investment all season. Today we follow that trend taking a Red Sox team who has scored 6 or more runs in their last 10 games. The Bo-Sox are 4-1 in their last 5 interleague games, 5-2 in in Rodriguezs’ last 7 starts while the Fish are 0-5 in their last 5 Game 2s of a Series, and 3-13 in their last 16 overall. Todays theme…Fade the Fish.

Risk 3.00 to win 2.52 [918] Cleveland Indians -119 vs New York Yankees- The Yankees are in the midst of a collapse, while the Jays continue to win (now just .5 games out of 1st place) the Yanks found a way to lose last night in a 16 inning marathon. Things don’t get much better for the Bronx Bombers today, as “former” Ace CC Sabathia toes the rubber for New York. Sabathia has been a dumpster fire all season, and in his last 3 starts…even worse, with a 6.00 ERA overall. The Indians counter with staff Ace, Danny Salazar, Salazar has gone 20.2 IP with a WHIP of 0.77 and an ERA of just 1.31 in his last 3 games. The Yankees have only scored 2 runs in their previous 4 games, and against Salazar expect those trends to continue. On the flip, Cleveland should have no trouble doing what so many other teams have already done…bash the baseball against Sabathaa. Smart $ is on the the Indians to continue the Yankees woes.

Risk 3.00 to win 2.70 [910] St. Louis Cardinals -111 vs Pittsburgh Pirates- Hard to pass up a Cardinals home game with a line under -115 and Michael Wacha on the mound. This is just a situation where the Cards are so good at home, and at this price as an investor…you can’t pass up. The Cards are 12-5 in their last 17 as a favorite with Wacha starting, 4-1 in their last 5 overall, and 4-1 in Wachas last 5 starts vs the Pirates. The Pirates are good, very good…just not as good as St Louis. A safe investment betting the best team in the National League, to continue their winning ways at home.

                    4% Cubs -1- / +130

Oakland Athletics (Brooks) at Toronto Blue Jays (Dickey) -1-/+105

Oakland visits Toronto for the continuation of their early week set. Last night the Blue Jays held on for a 4-2 victory. This game features an Oakland team who at 51-62 has the second worst record in the American League. They are facing a Toronto team who is 62-52 and has pulled with in one half game of NYY for the AL-East lead.

Oakland is one of the biggest achievers of the MLB season. After 278 wins the last 3 years (best in MLB) the A’s began the year 14-30. They have since responded by going 37-33, including a weekend sweep of division leading Houston. But it has been too little too late. They cleaned house at the trade dead line, tossing the towel on a lost season which has seen their defense commit the most errors in MLB. Tonight’sstater, Brooks, has pitched well in his previous 2 outings. But in his previous outing vs Toronto Brooks allowed 7 runs wile recording only 2 outs.

The Blue Jays have led MLB in offense for the entire season. Currently they have a .776 OPS in batting and lead MLB with over 5 runs per game. But it is the trade dead line acquisition of starter David Price and Troy Tulowitzki that have put them over the top. Combined with their strong hitting Toronto pitchers have a 1.43 ERA and .158 BAA in crafting the 9 game winning streak. Tonight they send a reborn RA Dickey to the mound. In 5 starts since the All Star break Dickey is 3-0 with a 0.99 ERA while allowing just 1 home run in 36 1/3 IP. Since joining Toronto Dickey has a 2.15 ERA in 5 starts against Oakland.

We soar with Toronto on the RunLine again tonight knowing that 50 of 62 Toronto wins (81%) of Blue Jays victories have come by 2 or more runs.

This is a game between two teams headed opposite directions. It is a classic August match up of a towel-tosser vs a Super surger. After winning less than 40% of their games the first 9 days of August home teams responded by going 15-0 last night. It is all about how the schedule breaks. Home teams are favorited in 13 of15 games tonight. This is the best of the lot.
Play the Blue Jays on the RunLine tonight.

Milwaukee Brewers (Garza) at Chicago Cubs (Hammel) -1-/+130 8:05
                    Chicago Cubs (Hammel) -1-/+130 8:05

Brewers have tossed the towel on a recent 6-14 slide since trading their 3 best bats. Garza has a 1.69 road WHIP and is 1-8 with a 6.21 ERA in 11 night starts. Cubs have the fourth best record in MLB due to an 11-1 surge. Hammel has a 1.01 home WHIP and has owned the Brewers with a 7-0 mark and 2.18 ERA in 9 starts. Lay the runs knowing that 54of 66 (82%) of Brewers losses have been by 2 or more runs, the worst in baseball.

6 Unit Play. Take #919 LA ANGELS -125 over Chicago White Sox (8:10p.m., Wednesday August 12)

Yes I know the Angels are on a horrible road losing streak but that streak stops tonight in the South Side of Chicago. The Angels look to avoid their 9th straight road loss and tonightthey are avoiding the series sweep from the Chicago White Sox. Angels starter tonight is Andrew Heaney and Heaney is looking to forget his last start against Baltimore. Heaney didn't get the decision in that game but the Angels won 8-4 but Heaney has pitched well this season as he is 7-1 with an ERA of 2.45. The crafty lefty Heaney is 2-1 on the road with a brilliant 1.83 ERA and tonight I see Heaney mowing down the White Sox hitters. The White Sox again are looking for the home sweep but the Sox have been struggling as of late losing 6 out of their last 9 games. The White Sox are 3-9 against a team with a winning record and the Angels are 7-0 when Heaney is a favorite and the Angels are 7-3 in their last 10 meetings against the White Sox
