When it comes to betting preseason you really can be prepared and have all the stars align only to get beat by the most random of events in the final quarter. Just remember that these games are exhibitions and do not mean anything.
I think that there are a few coaches that don’t want any part of the preseason. Jeff Fisher seems to be a coach that just has no interest in these games this year and who could blame him after Bradford went down in the 2014 preseason. This Rams Offensive Line needs a lot of work, but the first game or two I believe he is just going to get his guys out of these games injury free. The only problem is the Raiders backups are not very experienced. There are numerous guys that have never played in a NFL game before and although you might just go through the motions as the coach it really is hard not to score when your guys are better than the backups. The Rams return everyone on defense so there is nothing to prove there. The Raiders are looking to make a playoff push and have a lot to prove with Jack Del Rio as the new head coach. Del Rio has coached before and wants to get his team off to a good start. I think the quarterbacks in this game are perfect for an OVER play. Look for a lot of late points in the second half. With the game on the line I lean Oakland at home. A guy like Cody Fajardo can cause a lot of trouble at quarterback with his feet late in this game against 4th stringers. This is a good spot to play side and total, but DO NOT parlay them. Take the Raiders and take the OVER.
Rockies/Padres Over 10.5 Runs
Flande/Ross
The Padres are actually a decent hitting team when they face left handed pitching. Yohan Flande has not pitched much as a starter so I really don’t see him going more than 5 innings tonight and for sure don’t trust the Rockies bullpen. Colorado is always a good home hitting team, but the problem is they also give up a ton of runs. Look for both pitchers to get knocked around early. Take the Over.
