Last night the Pelicans lost to the defending champs in Golden State but tonight New Orleans travel to Portland and these Blazers could be one of the worst teams in the league. Star center Anthony Davis struggling last night in Golden St shooting 4-20 from the field but tonight I see the 'Brow' having a big game in Portland. The Blazers not only lost LaMarcus Aldridge over the summer but Robin Lopez, Nicolas Batum, and Wesley Matthews also jumped ship and I see the Blazers having a very long rebuilding season. Tonight New Orleans win on the road and again AD carries them to a Pels victory.

3-Unit Play. Take #710 Miami (-6) over Charlotte (7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28)

I think that this is a solid Miami team. They had to overcome a lot last year. They lost LeBron James. They had a ton of injuries. They lost Chris Bosh to a potentially life-threatening illness and he was out for the year. But the Heat still made some nice moves last year and is set up to be competitive this season. Miami added Goran Dragic at the trade deadline and managed to keep him around. Luol Deng will be more comfortable this season, his second with the team. And while Wade and Bosh are back this will be one of the East's better teams. Charlotte is still a decent team. But they have not played well against the Heat. Miami is 12-5 ATS in the last 17 meetings and the Heat have beaten Charlotte eight of the last 10 meetings. The home team has won four straight when these two play and the favorite is 4-2 ATS in the last six matchups. Lay the points.


2-Unit Play. Take 'Under' 198.0 Indiana at Toronto (7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28)

I hit with the 'under' last night in the Cleveland game. I think that I will hit again here. These two teams played 'over' in all three of their meetings last year. But two of the three games barely squeaked over. And those were lower numbers than this. I don't think that Toronto is going to be as strong offensively this year. They added some strong defensive players, especially DeMarre Carroll. And this team will be tougher than I've seen in Toronto the past two or three seasons. This Indiana team makes its mark on defense. They are healthy this year and I expect them to be even better defensively than last year's group. They were No. 3 in the league last season allowing just 97 points per game. No one is going to be sharp on opening night and I will take advantage with the 'under'.
