The Pacers are going to snap their three-game losing streak tonight. They were one of the hottest teams in the league through most of November and recently put together a great six-game winning streak. They have now lost three straight but are not playing that poorly. They made a strong comeback against Golden State but could not get within the number. They have had two days off since that game and this is just Indiana's second game in the last six days so they will be very well rested. Miami is playing without Hassan Whiteside tonight and that is going to leave a big hole in the middle of this team's defense. The Heat have been blown out by Washington and Charlotte in their last two games and this team is only playing its fourth road game in the last month! They have not been good on the road and have lost three of their last four away from home while going 1-3 ATS. The Heat are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 road games and they are 5-17 ATS against teams from the Central. The Packers are 14-3 ATS against teams from the East and they are 11-1 ATS when they have two days of rest. This one is all Indiana. Lay the points.Comment

I really like the way OKC has been playing as of late and the Thunder have looked impressive winning 3-straight games. OKC last road game they dominated Memphis winning 125-88 and Thursday night OKC easily beat Atlanta. Utah has dropped 3 out 5 and the Jazz lost at home to OKC 111-89 less then a month ago and I see the same results happen tonight in Utah. If Kevin Durrant and Westbrook play like they did last night and Ibaka continues to score buckets the OKC Thunder win again and we cash this 5-Unit road ticket.Comment

The surprise of the Eastern Conference has to be the Hornets who carry a record of 13-8 through the first two months of the season. Charlotte layed somewhat of an egg in their matchup with the Warriors on December 2nd 116-99 but have not lost since then rattling off three in a row in impressive fashion. They are doing it on both ends of the floor but defensively the Hornets are playing as good as anyone during the last two weeks holding their last three opponents to 87.0 points per game and 39.0% shooting. Nicolas Batum has been one of, if not the best, offseason addition made by any team and Kemba Walker is looking like an All Star. This version of the Charlotte Hornets may be the best we have seen and they could go a long way to proving they are legit with a win in Memphis. Take the Hornets to get the win outright 90-87.

I actually think that the Warriors have a decent shot to lose this game. If they don’t, then there are only about four or five other games where opponents have a realistic shot of beating the champions, lest they start the season about 40-0. But there’s a lot of hoops ghosts trolling around Boston. That area has seen some of the best there is and ever has been and I think that the magnitude of this one could tighten the screws on the Warriors. I expect it to be an electric atmosphere in TD Garden and I expect the Celtics to come to play. It helps that Boston is a really good team. They easily could’ve letdown in their game against a solid Chicago team – the game coming after their long road trip and right before this big tilt with the Warriors – but instead they quietly took care of business. Boston has won four of five, with the lone loss a three-point defeat at San Antonio, and six of eight overall. The C’s have a lot of size, really nice balance, and a lot of different scoring options. They’ll need their guards to play a bit above their heads and knock down some 3’s, but it’s possible. Boston has lost four straight to the Warriors, but three of those losses were by five points or less, including both meetings last year. The home team has won four of six meetings and the underdog has been the play in the series, going 5-3 ATS.

We took a pass on the card yesterday and the only remiss is that we could have stepped up with Iowa on the road at Iowa State but we played a wait and see approach and even the dog that we would have taken in Canisius wouldn’t have panned out so we are ok with these 2 selections today both of whom have bite to it. North Dakota State beat the tar out of North Dakota last year and it is a revenge game for North Dakota. Having said that, North Dakota State comes off a loss against Southern Miss which has to make the coaching staff go bonkers. This is a team that lost to Southern Miss a team outside the top 300 which has to drive this team nuts. On top of that this is a team that is a top 100 team on defense, who gave isuses to top 100 Illinois on the road, beat Montana and only lost by 20 to Iowa State which is relatively impressive considering how good Iowa State is. With North Dakota as one of the worst teams in offensive efficiency, coming off a big win over Bradley in double-overtime and this is a classic let down for this team as Bradley is down this year. We like State to get up for this game despite blowing this team out last year as they come off the Southern Miss loss.

Eastern Washington is a quality public fade that we will take today. Pitt comes off a dominating performance in their last game over Central Arkansas winning 100-47 and this could be a bit of a let down against Eastern Washington. This team just faced a team in the top 310 and ended up winning 100-47 and now they have to turn around and face a team in the top 200 who comes off a 10 point loss to Davidson on the road which is not an easy turn around. This team lost to Miss State earlier in the year if you remember by 18 points as well and with a limited card, a decent public fade, these type of games are part of our system as at the end of the day this is a top 90 offensive efficiency team and a top 45 team when it comes to turnover margin as well . We like Eastern Washington to fall within by 14-15 against Pitt.Comment
