2-Unit Play. Take #539 Georgia Southern (+3.5) over Appalachian State (6:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 25)
I'm going with the visitor here. Appalachian State likely wasn't able to practice this weekend due to the weather. This game was supposed to be played on Saturday and was postponed because of the storm. I think that is a big distraction for the home team. I also don't expect much of a home crowd here. Georgia Southern nearly knocked off Georgia State their last time out and this young team is starting to play well.
2-Unit Play. Take #529 Kansas (+2) over Iowa State (9 p.m., Monday, Jan. 25)
I will take the points with the Jayhawks here. This game is a very close matchup and it should come down to the final minutes. But I will go with Kansas because I think they have better guard play. The Jayhawks have dominated this conference for the past 15 years. And a big reason is that they have won games like this. They have beaten Iowa State in six of the last nine meetings and this is a good matchup for the bigger Jayhawks. Iowa State is just 1-5 ATS in its last six home games. Kansas played great in the secon half against Texas over the weekend and after back-to-back road losses I think that they are going to bounce back with a big winner here.
2-Unit Play. Take #534 Southern (-7.5) over Alabama A&M (7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 25)
One of the best teams in the SWAC is taking on one of the worst tonight. It should be a blowout. Southern has won five straight and they get this game at home where they have been very tough. This is a team with wins over Mississippi State, Tulane and Wyoming from bigger conferences this year. They also almost knocked off Memphis on the road. This is a good team. They are going to be too much for A&M. The Bulldogs have lost 9 of 11 games and they will fall flat again here. Lay the points.
2-Unit Play. Take #531 Furman (-6.5) over VMI (7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 25)
This is another game that is off a lot of people's radar. But this is another mismatch. VMI let its coach go in the offseason. They haven't recovered. They are coming off a rare win. But they have not won two in a row against D-I teams yet this year. Furman won by nearly 30 points in the first game this season. The Paladins have lost eight straight on the road this year. But they are getting close. Their last four road games have all been by four points or less. They are favored for a reason here and I don't think that this game will be close. The Paladins are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 league games and the Keydets are 1-11 ATS in their last 12 games on Monday.Comment

Iowa St comes to this HUGE home game against the Jayhawks winners of 3-straight and tonight I see the Cyclones continuing to win big conference games. Kansas will not be a push over but I do not like what I have seen with the Jayhawks on the road losers of Back-to-Back road games. Will be a close game from start to finish but late in the second half I see Iowa St pulling away. Iowa St is 8-3-1 ATS against Big 12 teams and the Kansas Jayhawks are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 gamesComment

Monday's College Basketball Plays
3-Unit Play. #529 Take Kansas (+2) over Iowa State (9 p.m., Monday, January 25)
To be honest, Kansas have not played well since they won that triple OT thriller against Oklahoma, now two weeks ago from today. Well, it seems like we're going against conventionl wisdom to bet on them facing here one of the toughest road venues in the country at Hilton Coliseum. That being said, this Jayhawks team laid an absolute egg in their last road game at Oklahoma State. They also lost at West Virginia prior to that loss, so KU haven't won away from Lawrence since January 9 at Texas Tech. Great opportunity tonight to avoid three straight. And while this Cyclones team is good, I don't think they are good enough to beat Oklahoma and Kansas in the span of eight days. Having unimpressed and failed to cover each of their last four games, Bell Self's squad steps up and wins in Aimes.
