4 Unit Play Take #51 Anaheim +105 over Boston (7:05pm est):

I think the wrong team is favored in this one as the Ducks rank #3 in the NHL in Corsi For %. They've scored 17 goals in their last 5 games overall with 3 goals or more in 4 of the last 5 contests and coming against some decent teams as well. Boston is playing a back to back game and it was a grueling hard fought battle last night against Philadelphia. This isn't just a back to back spot but their 3rd game in 4 days and 5th in last 7 overall. This has to be a tired team right now and I'm expecting the Bruins to be thinking more about going on the All-Star break than winning this game.

2-Unit Play. Take #56 Florida (-170) over Toronto (7:35) p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26)

Florida is turning out to be one of the top young teams in the league and are progressively getting better as the season moves on. BB&T Center is becoming a true hub for the Panthers while opponents are finding it to be an extremely difficult place to win. Florida has gone 9-1 at home over their last ten games and have put up 9 goals in their last two games in the building. Oh yeah, those nine goals came over Tampa Bay and Chicago. Toronto has won one game in their last 8 games and are slowly fading to the bottom. While the Maple Leafs are struggling to score they are also giving up a ton of goals. They have given up 25 goals in their last 8 games. Florida wins again at home tonight.

2-Unit Play. Take #64 Winnipeg (-155) over Arizona (8:05) p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26)

The Jets have now lost 7 of their last te10 games and remain in search of their first victory on their six game homestand. One of the issue the Jets have faced over the stretch is a lack of scoring where they have only posted 1 goal in each of its last four contests. But everyone needs to remember that this team went 6-1 at home in the month of December while playing some tough teams. Winnipeg knows that this is a long season and are due for a big win at home tonight. The Jets were a playoff team last year but are just two points ahead of Edmonton and administration, players, coaching staff and fans are becoming impatient. Winnipeg has more talent on the ice than the Coyotes and after last nights SO in Minnesota this Arizona team will be tired and ready to head into the Allstar break. Winnipeg gets a well over due win at home tonight.

4-Unit Play. Take #59 Chicago (-135) over Carolina (7:35) p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26)

Chicago is just too talented to lose twice to Carolina this season. The Blackhawks are 8-2 in their last ten games and 7-3 away from home. In their last two road contests the Blackhawks lost 4-0 against the Panthers and 2-1 against the Lightning. But prior to those loses they were averaging nearly 4 goals per game during their franchise record 12 game winning streak. With Crawford playing at such a high level and the Blackhawks offense really starting to click the score in this second match-u will be different this time around. I was really shocked by how poorly Carolina played against the Rangers the other night and can't see them beating the best team in the league again. Look for the Blackhawks to win against the Hurricanes in Carolina tonight.

4-Unit Play. Take #68 Vancouver (+130) over Nashville (10:05) p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26)

As soon as you think Vancouver is going to tank and be one of those teams at the bottom of the league they pop up and surprise you. This is a great game for the Canucks to do just that. Vancouver continues to play everyone tough and have only lost one game in their last ten by more than 1 goal. Nashville has been flat out atrocious on the road this season and have a 3-5-2 record to show for it over their last ten games. If the Predators think they have resolved their play on the road because of two straight wins they need to rethink those thoughts. Those two wins came from the Jets and Oilers. The four road games prior to these wins were loses with large point totals against Nashville. The Canucks will look to bounce back at home after a long road trip where they had points slip away to the Penguins the other night in a 5-4 loss. Overall the road trip was a success where the Canucks went 3-3 while losing to Pittsburgh, Washington and NY. Vancouver may not be more talented but they are playing team hockey. Look for the Canucks to continue playing at a high level tonight at home.

2Unit Play. Take #66 San Jose (-160) over Colorado (10:00) p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26)

San Jose and Colorado both have looked impressive over the last week and will face each other tonight in San Jose. The Sharks have been extremely impressive on offense during a 9-game point streak. The team is 7-3 over their last ten games but are coming off a 3-2 OT loss to their neighbors in LA. I think this San Jose team will bounce right back with a win tonight. The Sharks have played much better at home as of late where they are 4-0-2 in their last six. Colorado is coming off a 3-1 win over Dallas but the Av's were outshot 43-15 during that contest. The Sharks may not be as talented on offense as the Stars but are pretty close. I don't think Colorado can play this style of hockey and win back to back games over two good offensive teams. 43 (against)-15 (for) just wont cut it tonight in San Jose.

1-Unit Play. Take #54 Pittsburgh (-170) over New Jersey (7:00) p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26)

Surprisingly the New Jersey Devils have quietly put some wins together and are back in the hunt. The Devils have now won their last 4 games while playing some pretty good defense. Before winning those four games though the Devils were 1-5 and struggled scoring. As I look at their wins over the ten game stretch you can see a pattern forming? New Jersey is beating the team's subpar teams while losing to the more talented ones. Their losses include: Detroit, Montreal, Boston, St. Louis and Colorado. Their wins: Winnipeg, Ottawa, Calgary, Arizona and Minnesota. The only quality win (in my opinion) has come from the Wild but they too have been having their own issues with scoring. Pittsburgh is more talented and still has a really good defense. The Penguins are deeper and stronger on offense and don't see New Jersey being able to hang tonight in Pittsburgh.
