7-Unit Play. #502. Take Philadelphia 76ers +18 over Golden State (Saturday @ 5:05pm est)
This is a gutsy play and it takes a lot of courage to make this play. But, we have taken ugly dogs for the last 15 years so there is no reason we would stop here. Note, Golden State has the Knicks on deck at Madison Square Garden and they will undoubtedly be looking ahead to that game. Also, note that 76% of the public is on the Warriors on this game which we like. Plus, we really like the fact that this team comes off a big win over Dallas which was a revenge game and public burial as they were heavy favorites over Dallas for a reason as Steph actually played in this game compared to the loss at Dallas where they were routed. Note, that Philadelphia is a much better over their last 10 games and ever since D'Antonio and Jerry C. came on board. Sure, they have 7 wins and 40 losses but that doesn't mean anything unless you look at the splits and the constant waves and changes that is the NBA. Records mean very little not only in the NBA but in College Basketball and all other sports as professional sports especially are situational. Philly lost by 13 to Detroit in a game where they were likely looking ahead to this game. This is a team that beat Phoenix by 10 points as a favorite of -2 (yes, a favorite as the oddsmakers are realizing that this team is getting better), beat Orlando on the road by 9 points as 7 point underdogs, nearly beat New York in MSG as outright underdogs taking them to overtime, beat Portland, took the Bulls to overtime and lost to Cleveland by just 10 points as 16 point underdogs. This is a Championship caliber type game for the Sixers who are not going to the playoffs but they do get to face the defending Champs, at home and a team that is looking ahead to New York. Philadelphia from the opening tip will be focused and ready to roll here and we like them to hang tough and likely fall short in this game by 13 points.
5 Total College Basketball Selections on Saturday
3-Unit Play. #550. Take Kansas State -7 over Ole Miss (Saturday @ 2pm est)
We roll with Kansas State for our first selection as despite the public taking down the line a decent bit we still like Kansas State. Kansas State is actually a very good team from arguably the best conference in college basketball. They just have to face potent squads all the time which is a shame as they are a top 40 squad. This is a team that comes off a tough loss at West Virginia and likely bounces-back here against an SEC team who they will get up to face as losing by WVU is not a shame considering they lost by 15 points after nearly beating them at home. Though this team has Kansas on deck, we still don't mind rolling with them here as we like Kansas State by a decent margin by double-digits here. Note, Ole Miss off a big win against Auburn and will likely have a let down here and this is a team that is outside the top 200 when it comes to effective field goal percentage and outside the top 275 when it comes to 3 point field goals as well. Kansas State likely takes the cake here as they have played the tougher schedule thus far and the top 40 team likely wins by double-digits.
6-Unit Play. #556. Take Indiana -19 over Minnesota (Saturday @ 2:15pm est)
Indiana is an angry team off of a loss. This is a top 25 team who is top 20 when it comes to effective field goal percentage and top 55 when it comes to defensive efficiency. You have a team that is actually 2nd in true effective field goal percentage, top 5 in 3 point field goals and top 10 in two point field goals as well. As this team comes off a loss to Wisconsin and the fact they have already beaten Minnesota by 7 points on the road, they will make the adjustments here for even a bigger rout at home coming off a loss. Remember, after a loss against Duke they came back home to beat Morehead State 92-59, or loss to UNLV they won 112-70 against Alcorn State or against Wake Forrest, they beat St. Johns by 10 at home. Minnesota fought valiantly against Purdue losing by just 4 points, but they get routed here.
3-Unit Play. #592. Take Utah -11.5 over Stanford (Saturday @ 5pm est)
We roll with Utah here for a small step-out as we could make it a 7-unit selection but this is a decent number of units already. Note that Utah is a top 50 team that lost earlier this year to Stanford by a score of 70-68 in overtime on the road. That has to tick this team off who is a top 50 team. Note, if this team can beat California who is a top 45 team at home by 9 points, then why can't they beat Stanford who is a top 95 team by 11 points or more - especially with revenge? Stanford is outside the top 220 when it comes to 2 point percentage field goals and also outside the top 285 in effective field goal percentage. We wish that Stanford would not have gotten routed in Colorado, but we still like Utah here to step up with revenge and it's a decent public fade to boot as well.
3-Unit Play. #522. Take Florida +1 over West Virginia (Saturday @ 12pm est)
We don't really want to go against West Virginia here but this is a quality public fade on Saturday and Florida is likely primed for the upset against the top 25 team in West Virginia. The SEC is looking for respect and what better way than here. Florida has played the best teams in the country as they have faced 3 teams already in the top 10 power rankings and nearly beat A&M on the road losing by just a bucket. This is a top 5 defensive team and with West Virginia outside the top 300 in 3 point field-goals and coach White one of the best x's and o's coaches in the country, look for Florida to make this team shoot from behind the arc and guard heavily inside the perimeter here.
3-Unit Play. #596. Take South Carolina -8 over Alabama (Saturday @ 6pm est)
Bottom line here is that South Carolina has huge revenge against Alabama. Alabama got a much needed win over this squad at home giving this team their first loss of the year in Tuscaloosa and they get to exact their revenge here. This is a team that comes off a huge win against Tennessee and is primed for a let down here on the road against South Carolina. SC will be looking for their revenge, will make the necessary changes. Note, Bama is outside the top 175 when it comes to offensive efficiency and South Carolina is a 30 defense. That sets up for a big win here for South Carolina as they have the revenge and the defensive presence to get it done here for more than a 7 point differential.Comment

Inner Circle---Arkansas Coming off a big win against a very good Texas A&M team, the Hogs are HOT! Arkansas is excellent from the perimeter, shooting a superb .431 from three-point range. Few teams in the nation have a higher assist-to-turnover ratio than Arkansas, which ranks 15th at 1.55. Turning to the defensive side, an area where the Razorbacks are particularly strong is shot blocking, where they average 5.7 blocks per game, 16th in Division I. Look for Moses Kingsley to be especially strong againt this Red Raiders team. He is coming off another double-double; his 10th this season. The Razorbacks are double tuff at home where they are 9-3 at home. On the road, Tech is just 1-3. lay the chalk!!!

Pinnacle---Boise St...MWC Game of the Year Boise has to be mad about how they blew a huge lead Wednesday against UNLV. That was on the road while this game is at home. The Broncos are 11-1 at home this season. The Lobos are coming off two wins but against the worst of the worst. They will not know what hit them in this contest. Boise plays better, and gives up as few turnovers as the best of the best. Boise beats them on the boards and three point shots. Boise also makes a habit of getting to the free throw line many more time than their opponents and are 24th best free throw shooting team in the country. laying points at home, this is critical as they will pull away with intentional fouls from New Mexico. James Webb III leads everyone on the Broncos team which has a great cast of players surrounding him. I love that Boise is coming home and coming off a loss.

Opinion - ARKANSAS LITTLE ROCK (-7 ½) over Georgia State

Arkansas Little Rock is 18-2 with both losses coming on the road and my ratings favor the Trojans by 10 points against a struggling Georgia State team that’s lost 3 of their last 4 games and are just 6-10 ATS for the season (0-4 ATS recently). I’d have played this game as a Best Bet if not for a 77-32-2 ATS bounce-back situation that favors Georgia State. The line value favoring UALR is more significant than the situation favoring Georgia State so I’ll lean with Little Rock minus the points.
Opinion – St. Mary’s (-11 ½) over PACIFIC

Pacific is improved since leading scorer Alec Kobre joined the team after missing the first 6 games and St. Mary’s is no longer the most underrated team in the nation (they started the season 12-0 ATS). However, St. Mary’s is 56-30-3 ATS as a road favorite in Randy Bennett’s tenure as head coach and the Gaels tend to beat the teams that they are supposed to beat. In fact. St. Mary’s is now 75-28-2 ATS under Bennett if favored by 12 points or less against a team with a win percentage of less than .550. My ratings favor the Gaels by 12 ½ points, so there is still some line value, and I’ll lean with the Gaels at -12 or less based on the team trends.Comment
