St. Mary's (645) vs. Gonzaga(646) - February 20, 2016 - 10:00 PM
Pick: Your pick will be graded at Pinnacle @ -6 -107 Gonzaga Expert:Steve Merril Evaluation:Feb 20 - 10:00 PM Star Rating:10.0 Reason For Pick: St. Mary’s comes into tonight’s game at Gonzaga with a 21-4 record, but 16 of those wins have come on their home court. The Gaels have been dominant at home, but that wasn’t the case when they hosted Gonzaga a month ago. St. Mary’s only won that game by 3 points, but they actually trailed by 8 points at the half, and they trailed by 3 points with four minutes to play. The difference in that game came at the free throw line where St. Mary’s was +11 points (14-3) and +11 attempts (16-5). Gonzaga actually out-shot the Gaels 59.2%-50% from the field and 40%-37.5% from three-point land. St. Mary’s will now play the rematch on the road where they are just 5-3 this season. The Gaels’ offense is only averaging 67.2 points per game on 44.1% shooting from the field and 36.5% shooting from three-point land. Gonzaga will play their second consecutive home game after playing four straight games on the road. The Zags come in off a 90-68 blowout win over Pacific on Thursday night. Gonzaga is 11-3 at home where they own an excellent +19.2 point differential on the season. The Zags’ defense has been terrific at home as they are holding opponents to just 62.9 points per game on 38.8% shooting from the field and 23.6% shooting from three-point land. Gonzaga’s offense has been incredible at home where they are averaging 82.1 points per game on 48.2% shooting from the field and 41.5% shooting from three-point land. Gonzaga is in a fantastic revenge spot, so we’ll lay the points with the Zags in this game on Saturday night. 10* Play GONZAGA (-).
3 Unit Play. Take #506 Minnesota -2 over New York (8:05 p.m., Saturday, February 20)
The Knicks travel to Minnesota losers of 7-straight and last night the Knicks lost on the road in Brooklyn 109-98. Minnesota played last night and they lost 109-104 but tonight the Wolves get this game in their backyard. Last home game the T-Wolves beat Toronto 117-112 and if this game is fast pace game I see the young Wolves grabbing another home W
3 Unit Play Take #9 Detroit -110 over Ottawa (7:05pm est):
This revolves almost entirely on getting the Red Wings top goalie Petr Mrazek who is playing at very high levels this year. At this price and with him in the nets we are sitting on a very nice value spot.
Play Detroit. Big CBB card this evening you don't want to miss out on as it features me 7 unit CBB Total of the Month and 3 plays overall as I look to continue my red hot Saturday's this year. Join me as the edges on this day are too big to miss out on.
2-Unit Play. Take #6 Washington (-230) over New Jersey (7:05) p.m., Saturday, Feb. 20)
The Capitals seem to be on a mission this season and are showing no signs of slowing down either. They hold onto a 42-10-4 record through the first 56 games and now hold a +59 goal differential this season which is insanely impressive. With the Devils inability to score and the Caps playing so well at home (21-4-2) I don't see this New Jersey team being able to hang tonight. The Caps have also owned the Devils in this series over their last five games where they are 5-0. The Devils may have a strong defense but so do the Caps and like I said before, the lack of fire power on this New Jersey team is holding them back. They rely too much on their goal tender to bail them out and this type of hockey doesn't work against the better teams in the league. Look for Washington to win 3-1 tonight at home.
2-Unit Play. Take #6 Washington (-1.5, +140) over New Jersey (7:05) p.m., Saturday, Feb. 20)
