3-Unit Play. Take #728 Notre Dame (-2.5) over Miami (7 p.m., Wednesday, March 2)
I am going with the Irish in this one. They were beaten back when they went to Miami last month. But I don't think that the Hurricanes will get the sweep this year. Notre Dame has been at its best on its home court and they are always tough to beat in South Bend. They will embrace the underdog role tonight even though they are favored because they are not ranked and Miami is in the Top 10. The Hurricanes are coming off two very impressive home wins. But I think that they will continue to struggle on the road and that will open the door for a Notre Dame win.
3-Unit Play. Take #754 Providence (-3.5) over Creighton (9 p.m., Wednesday, March 2)
Providence is struggling big time. They have lost five of their last seven games and this team has dropped out of the Top 25. But this is still the same team that beat Arizona, Butler, and Villanova this year and the same team that won at Creighton earlier this season. The Bluejays have to make a long trip to Rhode Iland here and I think they will be facing a very motivated Friars bunch.
2-Unit Play. Take #737 Davidson (+9) over VCU (7 p.m., Wednesday, March 2)
I think that this will be a very competitive game. VCU is the better team. But Davidson is a hard team to blow out. The Wildcats were the league champions last year and brought back most of the guys from that team. So I think Davidson could be a team to watch in the Atlantic 10 the next couple weeks and I think it starts with a competitive game here in Virginia. The Wildcats are 24-9 ATS in their last 33 road games against a team that is above .500. The road team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings and I think the Rams are getting too much respect.
3-Unit Play. Take #770 Fresno State (-5.5) over Colorado State (11 p.m., Wednesday, March 2)
I will go with the home team in this one. Colorado State is coming off a heartbreaking road loss in overtime on Sunday. Now they have to travel again. Fresno State will have a lot of energy in this game because it is their final home game of the sason. Colorado State is 18-37 ATS in its last 55 road games against a team with a winning record and just 1-4 ATS in their last five road games overall. Fresno State is 4-1 ATS at home, the favorite is 5-0 ATS in this series, and the home team is 4-1 ATS the last five times they have played.
5 Unit Play. Take #770 Fresno St -5.5 over Colorado St (11:00p.m., Wednesday March 2 CBSC)
Last night I saw the oddsmakers open this game Fresno -6 or -5.5 and I thought for sure this number would have been this morning -6.5 or higher. Fresno gets this game at home where they have racked up 15 out of 17 home games and in conference play the Bulldogs are 11-5. Colorado St comes into this game off a overtime road loss to Nevada 87-80 and the Rams have dropped 4 out of 5 games. Overall, just playing the team that is playing outstanding team ball and if we see a Bulldogs team like we saw on the road Saturday in New Mexico the Bulldogs win this game by double-digits. Colorado St is 1-4 ATS against Conference opponents and the Bulldogs are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games. The favorite in this series is a perfect 5-0 ATS and the home team in this series is 4-1 ATS
