10 Game of the Year Side Play · [534] Rutgers Scarlet Knights
Firefox Sat Mar 5th, 2016 1:00pm ESTExpert Analysis: Minnesota is (2-12) in attempting to defeat its opponent twice in one season under present coaching staff. Rutgers is going all out to win this game as it is their chance to realistically accomplish that. Rutgers by 7. Simply put...I love this game. I usually play X on a game I like. I put 3X on this one. Win or lose I will not look back at this play. It has all the rationale I look for in a play. Only draw back is the fact Rutgers has not won a game since we put a man on the moon. hahahaha Hopefully that ends today.
Thank you so much for your great following in all sports.

              Saturday's College Basketball Plays

              3-Unit Play. #534 Take Rutgers (-1) over Minnesota (1 p.m., Saturday, March 5)

Listen, both these teams are awful. The line is wrong when you consider that Nate Mason, the Gophers' top scorer is out, and their third leading scorer, Joey King, is questionable. Rutgers is 0-17 in Big Ten play, and they are going to want to win this game because nothing else really matters to them. Its Senior Day, and the Scarlet Knights don't want a goose egg in conference play. Minnesota is 0-8 on the road this year, and that doesn't change here. Like I said, put aside the fact that both teams have had horrible seasons. What will drive the home team today is avoiding a winless conference season in addition to wanting the victory on Senior Day. There isn't anything Minnesota can look forward to here with a win that a loss doesn't do for them as well. Motivation drives this Rutgers team to finally get over the hump.

              3-Unit Play. #547 Take Old Dominion (-4) over Rice (2 p.m., Saturday, March 5)

Old Dominion has found itself in a nice groove towards the end of the regular season. The Monarchs have won three straight and seven of their last ten games in C-USA play. Rice has gone 2-7 ATS in their last nine games, and for a team that allows over 80 points per game, I don't think that bodes well for them against a good defensive club like ODU. The Owls are 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven road games, while the road team has covered each of the past four meetings. Rice won outright by nine as a double digit underdog in the first meeting at ODU, but the roles have reversed since mid February, and the Monarchs are the team playing better basketball. They return the favor and beat Rice minus the points here.

              3-Unit Play. #598 Take Florida State (-3) over Syracuse (2 p.m., Saturday, March 5)

The Orange have just three of their 19 wins from away games, and that speaks volumes as to the type of team Syracuse is. Florida State has had a pretty average season, but this is a good spot for them as Syracuse is coming off a close loss at UNC and a letdown situation after missing out on a potential big upset. FSU beat Notre Dame last time out at home by 19. I think they get another double digit win at home, this time over Syracuse.

              3-Unit Play. #580 Take Louisiana-Monroe (-5.5) over Georgia State (3 p.m., Saturday, March 5)

ULM is rolling right now. Eight straight wins overall in Sun Belt play, the Warhawks are a perfect 12-0 at home this year and 8-2 ATS in their last ten home games. GSU is 2-14 ATS overall in their last 16. ULM is scoring 82 points per home game, while the Panthers are at just 62 in road games. ULM stays perfect here and covers the number in a double digit win.

              3-Unit Play. #670 Take BYU (-15) over Santa Clara (4 p.m., Saturday, March 5)

All indications suggests BYU rolls over Santa Clara again. The Cougars beat the Broncos by 34 in the first meeting, and BYU has been dominant for the most part against their weaker WCC opponents. Santa Clara lost at Saint Mary's by 25, at Pepperdine by 12 and at Gonzaga by 17, the other three best teams in the conference. BYU has home wins over Portland by 18, San Diego by 58, Saint Mary's by 11, Pepperdine by 11 and Loyola Marymount by 25. This one is another home runaway by the Coogs here, a 20+ point win over Santa Clara.

              3-Unit Play. #581 Take South Carolina (+4) over Arkansas (5 p.m., Saturday, March 5)

South Carolina is firmly in the NCAA Tournament, but after consecutive SEC losses to lesser teams, the Gamecocks really can't afford third in a row. 23-7 overall on the year, South Carolina needs a gut check and to step up and get a road win here. They are 13-4 ATS in their last 17 games vs. winning teams, and today they come through with an outright win over the Razorbacks.

              3-Unit Play. #637 Take North Carolina (-2) over Duke (6:30 p.m., Saturday, March 5)

Duke had a mini shock of UNC when the Blue Devils stole one from their rivals in Chapel Hill in the final minutes. I see the Tar Heels exacting some revenge for that loss and beating Duke at Cameroon Indoor today. UNC is the deeper more well-rounded team, and I think Duke has been flirting with medocrity the entire season. You'll see a more complete game from UNC here, and they win over the Dukies in Durham.

3-Unit Play. #619 Take St. Bonaventure (-6.5) over Saint Louis (8 p.m., Saturday, March 5)

The Bonnies are red hot at the moment, winners of four straight and nine of their past ten. They are coming off a blowout win against the league's best team, beating St. Joe's by 18. Saint Louis is losers of three in a row and eight of their last ten. They were lucky the first meeting at SBU was only a three-point loss. This time its an even bigger result in favor of the Bonnies. St. Bonaventure is scoring over 81 points their last five games, and I don't think the Bilikens will have an answer today for this surging Atlantic 10 team.

              7-Unit Play. #621 Take Cal (-4) over Arizona State (8 p.m., Saturday, March 5)

The Golden Bears are the hottest team in argubaly the nation's best league. Cal had gone 7-0 both SU and ATS in their last seven Pac 12 games before a three-point loss at Arizona (ATS win) on Thursday. They won't let that one linger, and Cal will get right back to their winning ways against a very beatable Sun Devils team. Cal's top form has come with all its key players contributing. The entire month of January this team wasn't in sync because of some injuries and rotation issues, but things have sense been remedied. Five players average double figures on the season, led by one of the best freshmen in the country in Jaylen Brown. ASU is just 5-12 in league play, and they have not swept a weekly series all league schedule. The Sun Devils are coming off a win against Stanford earlier this week, and we're betting that trend stands up as ASU's inconsistent ways continue. More good for the Golden Bears in Tucson tonight. Cal won the first meeting by five in a game that should have been double that. But here they are clearly playing the much superior basketball and will leave no doubt in the score this time around. California takes this one from start to finish, 78-65.

              3-Unit Play. #623 Take Charlotte (-6) over North Texas (8 p.m., Saturday, March 5)

Why not. Right now the 49ers are playing their best basketball of the season. Charlotte has won three straight and can get to ten league wins for the year. UNT is 11-19 on the season overall and is facing this game tonight without their best player and leading scorer Jeremy Combs. North Texas has dropped three straight and five of their last seven, with four of these losses by by double digits. These two are finishing the year going in opposite directions, and we back the confident 49ers on the road.

3-Unit Play. #631 Take Louisiana Tech (+1.5) over Western Kentucky (8 p.m., Saturday, March 5)

The Bulldogs gritted out a tough road win over a good Marshall team on Thursday to bump themselves up to second place in C-USA ahead of next week's conference tournament. Their current spot is much more ideal for a run next week, and they'll avoid falling down the rung by avoiding a slip-up here against the Hilltoppers. La Tech has won eight of its last ten games and gone 7-3 ATS in those games as well. Tech was probably fortunate to beat Marshall last time out, but this time they assert themselves as the better team from the opening tap and make sure they score another road win to finish the regular season.

3-Unit Play. #639 Take Fresno State (+3) over Utah State (9 p.m., Saturday, March 5)

I said this Fresno State team would be a dangerous squad that may potentially steal an automatic Big Dance bid, and I still think they are in prime position to do so. We cashed the Bulldogs with their big win at home over Colorado State on Wednesday, and here they'll follow it up with a road win over the Aggies. Fresno State has won five straight, and the Bulldogs are 7-3 ATS in their last ten. They are flat out the better team here. More on the table for them here with a chance to build further momentum heading into the Mountain West tournament next week. Bulldogs outright as the small dog.

Some may say Louisiana Monroe, why a game like this? The reason is simple these smaller conferences don’t get the attention that the other conferences do so it’s easier to find value with under the radar conferences. This play is as much going against Georgia St as it is going with Louisiana Monroe. Let’s start with Georgia St who is in what I feel a horrible spot today. Thursday night they went into Louisiana Lafayette as a 9 point dog and won outright. That was a huge revenge game for them as they had lost by 33 points earlier in the year on their home floor. They had that revenge game circled on the calendar since January 16th. Losing on your home floor by 33 points is not something you forget. Now they have to play on the road again just 2 days later after such a big emotional win on the final game of the regular season. Where is the motivation for Georgia St today this is a meaningless game on the schedule and they already beat Louisiana Monroe by 14 points at home. Now it’s Louisiana Monroe who plays with revenge and is at home on Senior Day. It must be noted that when these 2 met the first time Georgia St shot 42% from 3 pt range hitting 8 of 19. Louisiana Monroe only hit 2 of 13 from 3 point range. Louisiana Monroe is 12-1 SU and 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games. They are a great defensive team as they have held 5 straight opponents to under 38% shooting. In there last game they returned home from a 4 game road trip to win but not cover which is giving us even more line value here. After that close win we will get a very focused and motivated team playing their last game of the season at home today. Georgia St is just 5-13 ATS in conference play this season while Louisiana Monroe is 13-6 in conference play. Louisiana Monroe is 8-2 ATS at home this season. Over the last 2 seasons if Louisiana Monroe is coming off of a Conference win they are 20-8 ATS in their next game. Everything I look at says Louisiana Monroe and I have them winning by 12 or more here.

TAKE LOUISIANA MONROE -5.5 as MARCO’S 6% COLLEGE GAME OF THE YEAR
