The Nashville Predators will look to continue their hot streak in tonight's match-up against the Jets in Winnipeg. The surging predators enter a franchise record 12 game point streak and has taken control of the Western Conference's first wild card spot by winning 6 of their last 7 games. Both their offense and defense seem to be clicking right now where the Pred's have scored 19 total goals in their last 4 games. The Jets are trending in the opposite direction and have now lost 8 games over their last 10 and their youth, injuries and talent have hindered them from making any progress. Winnipeg's offense continues to struggle and will likely continue with both the Pred's goal tenders playing at such a high level. Take Nashville tonight on the road in Winnipeg.

7 Unit Play Take #55 Detroit -105 over Columbus (7:05pm est):

The Detroit Red Wings come in having dropped their last two games overall. Both losses though came against the very good Chicago Blackhawks and that should add to their focus here in this one. The Wings actually outshot Chicago in the two contests combined. It looks like Detroit has struggled on the road of late but most of those defeats were by some of the top teams in the league. It's against bad teams like Columbus that Detroit has played very well having went 19-7 their last 26 games versus teams with losing home records like Columbus.

The Blue Jackets come in with one of the worst goal differentials in the NHL overall this season. They don't have a whole lot to play for here unlike a Red Wings team who has a lot at stake. Columbus is also expected to be without it's top goal scorer on the year as well for this one. The reason for the shorter price here on the Red Wings probably has to do with the fact they will go with Jimmy Howard in the nets but that's a good thing here as Howard has had great success against Columbus in the past, shutting them out twice just last season and has allowed less than 2 goals per game career wise against them. The Red Wings other goalie is struggling right now and Howard is a proven guy who is very capable in the nets. Overall there's just lots to like here about a better Red Wings team that needs this game.

Take Detroit here. On a roll right now with my NBA plays having won 8 of my past 11 selections. I've also went 8-2 on my NBA side plays as well. Join in the winning as this is the time of the year I've crushed it. Keep your eyes open for a big play on Wednesday in a game I like a lot and have some solid information I feel that gives me a nice edge on this play.

Talk about a team that went from red hot to ice cold but tonight in the Rose Quarter I see the home team grabbing the victory. Washington will be short-handed tonight with no Bradley Beal and Alan Anderson and I see the Blazers bench out-playing. Washington comes to Portland on a two game losing and tonight the Blazers will look to snap out of their 3-game losing streak. Look for the back court of Portland to have a big game and in the second half I see the Blazers pulling away and finally getting back to winning basketball games. Portland is 6-1 ATS following a SU loss and the Wizards are 2-8 ATS against a team with a SU winning record.

Washington had a nice 4-game winning streak going prior to losing their last two games to Indiana and Cleveland. Their last loss came at home versus the Pacers, but that defeat came by just a single point (100-99). The Wizards will now hit the road and begin a 3-game road trip in Portland tonight. Washington’s next three games are all critically important for their playoff hopes, and since they are coming off a home loss, we expect a peak performance by the Wizards tonight. Washington’s offense was in excellent form prior to their last two games; the Wizards had scored 103 points or more in six consecutive games. Their offensive success will return tonight against a Portland team that has allowed 356 total points in their last three games. Since the All-Star break, the Trail Blazers’ defense has given up 102 points or more in eight of ten games. Overall, Portland has allowed 107.7 points per game to their opponents since the break.

Portland was one of the hottest teams in the NBA from mid-January to the beginning of March. The Trail Blazers went 18-4 SU over a 22-game span, but most of those wins came against inferior opponents. Things have turned sour for Portland as they come into tonight on a 3-game losing streak with two of the losses coming by 23 and 20 points. Portland was expected to be one of the worst teams in the league after losing four of their five starters from last year’s team. But the Trail Blazers overachieved greatly during their recent run, and now it’s time for them to regress. Portland is returning home off a 6-game road trip, and they’ve had just one day to settle in. Washington comes into tonight’s game with two full days of rest, so they have a scheduling advantage over Portland. The Trail Blazers are overvalued right now, so we’ll take Washington plus the points in this game on Tuesday night.
