3-Unit Play. #504. Take Charlotte -6.5 over Dallas (Monday @ 7:05pm est) (Currently -6 at MGM Mirage)
Our first selection here is Charlotte as they hook up with Dallas. Charlotte is rolling right now to we are sure the excitement of Michael Jordan as they are 37-28 currently and a solid 25-9 at home. Charlotte has won 7 in a row and they are blowing teams out including beating Houston, Detroit, New Orleans, Minnesota, Indiana, Philadelphia and Phoenix. This is a team that routed Dallas 108-94 the last time they faced them and though Dallas has revenge, note that Dallas is struggling right now and has Cleveland on deck and might be looking forward to that game. The public likes taking the points here but note that Jordan is not a fan of Cuban and the Mavs are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games and the Hornets are 10-1 ATS following a straight up win of 10 or more points as they are a very streaky team.
3-Unit Play. #508. Take Toronto -9 over Chicago (Monday @ 7:35pm est)
Toronto has heavy revenge against Chicago and this is too much of a decent public fade to get here. Toronto lost by 10 points back in February to this team and has a decent amount of revenge and is playing well right now including beating a very good Miami team at home in overtime. Note, this is the same Toronto team that beat Cleveland outright at home and this team is a serious contender to make it to the Finals this year and take down Cleveland. The Bulls are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games and we do not see Toronto overlooking Chicago here as we like them to win by double-digits.
3-Unit Play. #510. Take Houston -10.5 over Memphis (Monday @ 8:05pm est)
Memphis is playing well right now despite all their injuries but they are do for a let down and we think it's here. Frankly, they should not have covered at Atlanta in a similar situation but that's ok as we will fade them here. Note, that Houston comes off a 16 point loss to Charlotte, beating Boston outright on the road which is not easy to do these days, beat Philadelphia by 14 points to their credit on the road and beat Toronto by 6 points on the road as well as they won outright as an 8 point underdog. Houston definitely does not want to fall below .500 as they sit at 33-33 currently and we like them to hold their own here and despite Memphis having revenge, the ATS train for Memphis is going to come to a standstill at some point and it's likely here.
4-Unit Play. #516. Take Phoenix -1 over Minnesota (Monday @ 10:05pm est)
We roll with Phoenix here as they hook up with Minnesota in a let down spot for Minnesota after a big win in their last game against OKC as a 12 point underdog. But, this team likely has a huge let down against Phoenix as it's a decent public fade to start, they beat this team 117-87 the last time they played and Phoenix will be up for this game in a big way. Note, Phoenix has not quit on the season only losing by 7 points to Golden State to their credit and this is a team that has shown some chops beating Minnesota and Memphis outright to their credit. Phoenix likely gets it done today.
4-Unit Play. Take #513 Cleveland -4 over Utah (Monday, March 14th at 10:35 p.m.)
My spreadsheet has Cleveland winning this game by a final score of 102-95. The key components in this matchup are current form and LeBron James.
Cleveland proved me wrong yesterday with a big win in LA over the Clippers. They are playing much better basketball as of late and they have been especially good against the Western Conference. Utah also played last night in Sacramento. The Jazz won that game but they haven't been playing very good lately. I look for Cleveland to keep the hot hand in Utah tonight and I look for LBJ to be a big reason why. The Jazz have nobody who can matchup with him (what team does?) and he has that look in his eye right now. There is built-in value in this line and we will play the Cavs tonight.
Take Cleveland.
Best of luck -- Mike
7-Unit Play. Take #515-516 Minnesota/Phoenix GAME TOTAL UNDER 221.5 (Monday, March 14 at 10:05 PM ET)
Take Minnesota/Phoenix GAME TOTAL UNDER as my 7-Unit NBA Total Smash for Monday night. I feel we are getting great value in a game I see staying well under the posted total tonight and this pick falls into one of my top NBA systems. All four of the Timberwolves last 4 trips to Phoenix have gone under the posted total, and these two teams have played each other twice this season with an average score of just 206.5. The Timberwolves went off for 117 points in their last game against the Suns which was in Minnesota. However, there is no way the T-Wolves shoot 56.5% as a team again or go to the line 40 times like they did in that game. The Suns put up just 87 points in their last games against Minnesota despite shooting 43.2% and taking 12 more shots than the Timberwolves. The O/U is 1-4 for Minnesota in their last 5 games when playing a team with a losing record and the O/U is 5-14 for the Suns in their last 19 games against a Northwest division opponent. Play the Under with confidence as I see this game barely touching 200 tonight.
4-Unit Play. Take #513-514 Cleveland/Utah GAME TOTAL UNDER 194.5 (Monday, March 14 at 10:35 PM ET)
Take Cleveland/Utah GAME TOTAL UNDER as my 4-Unit NBA Smash for Monday night. This pick falls into one of my top NBA systems, and after Utah shot lights out against the worst defense team in the NBA last night, their offensive production stops against the Cavaliers tonight. The O/U is 4-10 for the Cavs in their last 14 road games when playing a team with a winning record at home and the O/U is 6-13 for the Jazz in their last 19 games after a win. The Cavs have allowed the 4th least amount of ppg this season with opponents averaging just 97.5 ppg against them and Utah has allowed just 94.2 ppg at home this season. Play the UNDER with confidence.
4-Unit Play. Take #508 Toronto -9 over Chicago (Monday, March 14 at 7:35 PM ET)
Take Toronto ATS as my 4-Unit NBA Smash for Monday night. This pick falls into one of my top NBA systems and I have the Raptors winning by 16+ points tonight so there is great value in this line drop. The Raptors are just 0-8 ATS in their last 8 games against the Bulls, however that was against a totally difference Bulls team. The Raptors are the superior overall team here tonight and they have allowed the 5th least amount of ppg in the NBA this season with opponents averaging just 98.4 ppg against them. The Raptors are the 5th best shooting team from beyond the arc in the NBA and they are a very hot team right now having won 5 of their last 6 games overall. The Raptors have revenge in mind tonight after losing 106-116 to the Bulls in Chicago back on February 19th, and you can throw that game out the window as that was a very bad situational game for the Raptors. The Raptors went on to win 4 straight after that loss including a 99-97 win over a pretty darn good Cavaliers team. Play Toronto ATS with confidence in what should be a blowout for them at home tonight.
