Analysis: Because I hate the hook that I could have had - but just too busy. This game likely goes over as well first things first in that even though the Gators are the #2 seed and North Florida is the #7 seed, the game is in Jacksonville at UNF Arena, which holds all of 5800 people. That's certainly not what the Gators are used to, and this is UNF's Game of their Life and I actually think they can win it. For one thing, Florida does NOT have Billy Donovan AND this is quite simply almost beneath them. This game reminds me of when Kentucky agreed to play at Robert Morris a few years back and was beaten outright. UNF plays very fast and do nothing but shoot three's - they lost the Conference Championship game at home to Florida Gulf Coast, but this is almost a better consolation prize for them - playing in-state Florida at home, where they shoot 41% from behind the arc and their primary shooters all have a length advantage over the Gators defenders. And, this is one of the most experienced teams in the nation, playing together for the last time. They will have had twelve days off to refocus whereas the Gators will have had exactly four days off. UNF doesn't play a ton of defense, but they will gladly trade 2 points for 3 points all night long. Plus, the Gators really have no offense! And Florida is an awful FT shooting team and they lost their last THREE home games - they rarely lost three home games in a season under Donovan. North Florida is NOT an undersized team by any means - and after this game Michael White might be wishing he stayed at LaTech - he's trying to play his style (quicker) with Donovans' players - which rarely works out of the gate.
