4 Unit Play. #735 Take Connecticut -3.5 over Colorado (1:30 pm TNT) Connecticut has been on cloud nine since making a three quarter court shot in the semi-finals of the American Athletic Conference Tournament. This has always been a streaky team and I expect them to keep that going with a victory Thursday afternoon. The Buffaloes dominated their home court during conference play and got into the tournament based on the strength of the PAC-12 as a whole. Colorado was just 2-7 on the road in the PAC-12. UCONN has good guards and some size in the middle and I expect them to pull away late and win this game by 7-10 points.
2 Unit Play. #737 Take Chattanooga +11.5 over Indiana (7:10 pm CBS) It is not too often that a team wins the regular season championship outright in the Big 10 yet is given a 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament. To me that says how vulnerable this team is and we will gladly grab the double digits with the Mocs. UT Chattanooga likes to keep the score around 70 points and that should be too our benefit getting this many points. The Hoosiers have some of their wing players banged up and I just do not see a blowout unless Indiana lights it up from long range.
8 Unit Play. #742 Take Purdue -9 over Arkansas Little Rock (4:30 pm TBS) NCAA Tournament Game of the Year. The Boilermakers fall into the category of one of the most under seeded teams in the 2016 Big Dance. Purdue is one of the most physical teams in the country and their size will be too much for the Trojans to overcome. UALR played in a weak one bid league this season and they have yet to see a team as big as Purdue. The Trojans play a very similar style as does the Boilermakers, both rely on defense and that fits right into Purdue's strength. UALR averages just 33.8 rebounds per game (286th in the country) and Hammonds and company will fest on the backboards on both ends of the floor. Purdue comes in with a chip on their shoulder as they gave away the Big 10 Tournament Championship Game by failing to execute down the stretch. The Trojans played just two teams this season that made NCAA Tournament (Texas Tech & Tulsa both bubble teams). The only question is how well Purdue will shoot the basketball because of they can find the touch from long range they will win this game by 15-18 points. When Purdue wins, it tends to come by double digits.
