Baseball is just 3 days away. Denver is the type of team that has a coaching staff that simply has not made these guys quit and to their credi they sit at 32 wins. It is a true family atmosphere in Denver and with such a young core and a deep draft that waits, this team is going to get significantly better. Remember, this team just beat Memphis 109-105 on the road outright and this team lost to the Pelicans by 5 points in December. Sure, the Pelicans come off a great effort against San Antonio only losing by 8 points as heavy 19 point underdogs. They made the game against the Spurs much closer in the 4th quarter to the irritation of Coach Pop and showed a lot of heart. But, this is a Pelican team that has a tendency to struggle as underdogs at home such as losing by 14 points against Miami, losing by 14 to Toronto and 11 points to Milwaukee on the road. This is a Denver team that has revenge, decent public fade, a team that gets to face a Pelican team that is on a high after a quality effort against the Spurs but likely in for a let down here and the Pelicans have struggled against teams with a losing road record as they are just 3-7 ATS against such teams with a losing road record at home. This team is very well coached, a young core that continues to get better and has not quit and with New Orleans struggling to score points and the Pelicans shooting 47.1% in 3 pointers in their last game, don't be surprised if they struggle to shoot against a Denver team that will be out on the perimeter. We have Denver by double-digits on the road this evening and absolutely cannot wait for Baseball to start in just 3 days as we look to post +$15,000 on the diamond similar to last year's huge season.
3-Unit Play. #710. Take Oklahoma City -15.5 over LA Clippers (Thursday @ 9:35pm est)
We roll with OKC here as they are incredibly irritated as they rested some players and ended up losing to a Pistons team after they had won 8 straight games, were coming off a 19 point win against Toronto on the road and simply had a let down and did not take the Pistons as seriously and the Pistons had to watch Reggie Jackson parade around after beating them. Without a doubt OKC is frustrated, irritaed and will want to blowout the Clippers to get back on track here who they have beat by wide margins and with the Clippers coming off such a dominant performance, this is a classic let down spot for them as well. We like OKC from the start here of the opening tip to look for the blowout as this is the same Clipper team by 11 to Memphis. The Clippers are 1-7 in their last 8 games when they face a team with a straight up winning record and the Thunder are 4-0 ATS coming off a straight up loss and 4-0 ATS when they face teams with winning percentages of greater than 60%.

Boston comes into tonight’s game in Portland off an embarrassing 24-point (114-90) loss to the Clippers on Monday night. That loss snapped Boston’s 4-game winning streak, but we expect the Celtics to bounce back strong in this game. Boston has lost six games, including Monday, by more than 15 points this season. The Celtics are 4-1 SU in games following such defeats with their average win coming by a whopping +13.5 points per game. Boston’s last three losses have come against the Clippers, Raptors, and Thunder who are all upper echelon teams in the NBA. The Celtics will face a lesser team tonight in Portland, and Boston is simply the better overall team. Boston already crushed the Trail Blazers by 23 points (116-93) earlier this month. The Celtics dominated inside the paint as they out-scored the Trail Blazers 60-34, and they also had 30 fast break points to just 11 fast break points for Portland.

Portland is 4-2 SU over their last six games, so it appears they are playing good basketball right now. However, the Trail Blazers’ four wins have come against the dregs of the league like the Kings, Sixers, Mavericks, and Pelicans. Three of those wins came by 6 points or less, so Portland struggled against those bad teams. Portland’s defense is not in good current form as they’ve allowed 105.8 points per game on 45.4% shooting from the field over their last five games. To compare, Boston’s defense has allowed just 98.6 points per game on 42.9% shooting from the field and 31.4% shooting from three-point land over their last five games. Boston is in a terrific bounce back spot this evening, so we’ll take the Celtics plus the points in this game on Thursday night.

Toronto has been playing just as good as anyone in the NHL ten games while holding a 6-4 record. The Maple Leafs have beaten Detroit Tampa Bay, Buffalo, Calgary, Anaheim and Florida over the stretch. I just think this team is playing harder than anyone right now and continue to improve on the defensive side. Bernier has been shaky in a couple losses but dominant in the wins. He also seems to be improving each night. On March 19th these two teams faced off against each other and Toronto dominated shots on goal and the pace of play. The Maple Leafs won 4-1 during that contest. Anticipate a similar score and game tonight in Buffalo.

5-Unit Play. Take #7 NY Rangers (-135) over Carolina (7:00) p.m., Thursday, Mar. 31)

Although the Hurricanes have been playing people tough I don't foresee them beating the Rangers tonight. NY has the all-around better team and are stronger on both ends of the ice. The team is only 5-5 over their last ten games but their losses have come from some stellar teams like Pittsburgh (2), San Jose (A), LA (A), and Detroit (A). On the other side Carolina is 3-7 over their last ten and they are struggling beating anyone with a decent roster. The Rangers have dominated this match-up where they are 9-1 over their last ten and am betting Lundqvist will be the difference maker. He holds a 2.41 goals-against average and is getting ready for playoff hockey. Take NY in Carolina tonight.

2-Unit Play. Take #11 Tampa Bay (-1.5, +125) over Montreal (7:00) p.m., Thursday, Mar. 31)

Tampa Bay will look for redemption after the club lost 4-2 in Montreal on February 9th. The Statistically the Lightning have better offense, defense and more depth in this match-up. Ben Bishop is still playing at a ridiculously high level and is averaging only 2.02 goals against with 33 wins this season. Tampa is now 4-1 in their last 5 overall and look as though they are ready for the playoffs. Montreal has been consistently bad since November and can't get anything rolling. The Canadians have struggled on the road the entire season where they are 14-21-2-1 and 2-7-0-1 over their last ten. Take Tampa Bay at home against an underperforming Montreal team.

2-Unit Play. Take #10 Florida (-1.5, +115) over New Jersey (7:30) p.m., Thursday, Mar. 31)

Florida is hoping to avoid its first three game home span without a point in two years and will have to do so without one of their top scorers (Jagr). These two clubs played each other back in mid-December where the Panthers put on a clinic scoring 5 goals to the devils 1. Florida is now 5-1 in their last 6 games following a home loss of three or more and I like the Panthers chances to bounce back after losing to Toronto the prior night. The Panthers are 5-1 in their last six games following a home loss of 3 or more. The youth and speed on this Florida team will be the reason New Jersey falls tonight. Take the Panthers at home tonight.
