The Thunder exposed the Spurs age in the semifinals, but they won't have the same luxury in this 7 game set with the Warriors who are in the prime of their careers, and are also pretty well rested with their last game coming on Wednesday the 11th.


Let's look at the regular season meetings shall we? Golden State took all 3 this season from Oklahoma City, and went 2-0-1 against the spread in the 3 wins.


Overall, the Warriors have won 6 of the last 7 series meetings, and are 4-1-1 against the spread in the last 6 showdowns!


The Dubs have won all 6 of their playoff home games, and have covered in 5 of the 6 thus far. The Thunder came through with a pair of road wins in their last series versus San Antonio, but they also lost the first game of that series on the road by a whopping 32-points.


The regular season matchups didn't work well for OKC, and I don't see them working any better here in the postseason.

You'd have to think if there is 1 game that OKC wins in this series, it's the first contest to send a message. This team has to be irked that they have lost all 3 times they faced Golden State this year especially being up in the 4th quarter in each of those contests. Plus, they lost in the epic Steph Curry buzzer beater off the backboard from nearly half court which still has to stick in this team's craw. But, give the Thunder a lot of credit, in Durant's last year on his contract, with a sense of urgency, with a new coach in Donovan, with the emergence of Adams and with a bench that includes Waiters and Roberson who are not afraid to take shots, this team has taken shape. It's been some time coming, but they have taken shape and more importantly, Durant and Westbrook might have realized from this series - and only now - that they are better off with each other than without. Durant might have thought to leave for Miami or Washington but given that Miami is an older team and Washington might not have the frontcourt necessary to compete for a championship, OKC might be the way for Durant to go for the future. This series will say a lot about what Durant does. So the window is limited. With OKC only a 7.5 point underdog it shows the oddsmakers respect for OKC as OKC was a similar dog to the Spurs on the road and they were able to win outright twice against a Spurs team that rarely lost at home. The Thunder are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 9-2 ATS when facing a team with a winning percentage of greater than 60% overall. The Thunder likely send a message from start to finish here with a win. Also, we would not be surprised if Toronto took Game 1 either of the Eastern Conference Finals and make Stephen A. Smith look a little silly who has openly stated there is no way the Raptors win. Of course, it's not hard to make Stephen A look silly.
