Colorado's bats finally came alive last night in Boston and tonight they face a pitcher that they have worn out this year. The Rockies had 12 hits and scored 8 runs last night as they busted out of their hitting "slump". Matt Cain takes the mound for the red hot Giants and the Rockies are glad to see him. He has faced Colorado twice this year and it has not been pretty. He allowed 6 earned runs in both outings and he didn't get out of the 4th inning in either game. In total, he allowed 16 hits and 12 earned runs in 8.2 innings pitched. This is a great matchup for the Rockies, obviously.


The red hot Giants get to face Chatwood tonight. Chatwood has already faced San Francisco once this year and the Giants lit him up to the tune of 11 hits and 5 earned runs in just 6.0 innings pitched. Chatwood has faced the Giants three times since 2014 and he has allowed 24 hits and 14 earned runs in 18.0 innings pitched.


I love this situation for both teams tonight. The pitching matchup sets up well for a high scoring game.

For Friday, Top-Rated 1000♦ is Cleveland-Toronto UNDER the total. At 9:30 am eastern time, the total for this game is 196 1/2, both in Vegas and Offshore.


The Raptors will surely get a boost playing back in front of the home crowd, but I think it is safe to say that while the total has been challenged all series long, the Under is still 4-1 through the 5 games contested.


I will side with another close one totals-wise, but will side with the Under to punch the ticket.


Just can't count on the loser of this game to be much more than 85 points or so, as the track record shows the loser of the first 5 games to 84, 89, 84, 99, and of course 78 on Wednesday.


It should also be pointed out that the Under is 22-6-1 the past 29 times the Cavs and the Raptors have jumped ball on the Air Canada Centre hardwood.

Philadelphia makes good on these debts, as they are 13-0 as a dog off a road game which they scored fewer than three runs in their starters last start and lost -- as long as that starter was not Aaron Harang. The SDQL text is:

That 13 straight wins as a dog. In their last two they beat Jordan Zimmerman 8-2 as a 205 dog and Max Scherzer 4-3 as a 185 dog.

In their two games from this season, they lost by identical scores of 8-1.

Back on May 10th, the Dodgers beat DeGrom 3-2 at home in walk-off fashion. LA is 0-8 as a road dog off a game as a home favorite when their opponents starter has same-season revenge for a team loss in which he allowed fewer than three runs.

The Mets love breaking their opponents streak in a home series opener. New York is 10-0 as a home favorite in the first game of a series vs a team that has won at least their last two games. This season, Houston is 0-5 under these conditions.

In his last start, Shoemaker went seven and a third and did not allow a run while striking out a career high 12. LA is a resilient 12-0 in the first game of a series off a road series when their line is within 20 cents of pick and they blew a lead and lost in their starters last start, while producing more than six hits.

The wrong team is favored here.
