7-Unit Play. Take 'Under' 8 Miami at Atlanta (Sunday, May 29th at 5:05 p.m.)
Julio Teheran is having a fantastic season on the mound for the Atlanta Braves. However, you would never know it as his record is just 1-4. However, his era is 2.57 and it's even better in his last three games, 0.83. On top of that, he has owned the Marlins in his career. He is 5-2 vs. Miami with an era of 2.71 and the under is 8-4 in those 12 starts. Despite "busting out" for 7 runs last night, Atlanta's offense is putrid. They are last in the league in scoring runs at 3.19 runs per game and they are even worse at home where they average just 3.08 runs per game.
Atlanta has had some success vs. Koehler in the past but Koehler has pitched well as of late. He has pitched extremely well in 7 out of his 9 outings this season. In his last four starts, he has pitched 24.2 innings allowing 21 hits and just 7 earned runs for an era of 2.60. I look for him to be rock solid again today vs. a subpar Atlanta offense.
I love the value of this selection. Atlanta's offense had only scored 11 runs in their previous 6 games before "exploding" for 7 runs Saturday. Miami has only scored 4 runs in the first two games of this series and Teheran has been magnificient this year -- and in the past vs. Miami.
4 Unit Play. Take #928 Seattle -1.5 +110 over Minnesota (4:10p.m., Sunday May 29) The Seattle Mariners will be looking to avoid a 3-game sweep by the lonely Minnesota Twins tonight at home. Mariners' pitching has been horrendous this weekend giving up 13 runs in two games but today not only does Taijuan Walker stop his struggles but the Mariners snap their 2-game losing streak. The Twins are 1-4 when Ricky Nolasco starts on the road and the Mariners are 9-3 following a SU loss and 8-1 when Walker starts against AL Central teams.
