Baltimore is looking to salvage a split in this four game series with their divisional foe but with the way Boston has been swinging the bats lately they will likely have to produce at the plate like they did last night. The Red Sox have been swinging some hot bats over their last 5 contests batting .308 while averaging 7.2 runs and were outscored by the Orioles last night 13-9. Ubaldo Jiminez will try and slow the Sox down but he owns an ERA over 7 in 12 career starts against them and he is 2-2 with a 5.56 ERA in 6 starts at home this season. Jiminez has allowed 3 or 4 walks in eight out of his last nine starts and Boston will certainly make him pay with many of their regulars having success against him in the past. Rick Porcello has been much better in his second season with Boston but he has been knocked around in his last three contests going 1-1 with a 5.19 ERA. The Orioles roughed him up in 3 starts last year as he went 0-2 with a 9.37 ERA against them and his career ERA against Baltimore is 5.45 in 12 starts. The over is 4-0 in Jiminez's last 4 starts will ten runs or more being scored combined by both teams in those and the over is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams in Baltimore.
