7-Unit Play. Take #972 Boston (-1.5, +110) over Toronto (7:10 p.m., Friday, June 3)
Boston's offense hasn't had any problems scoring runs lately but their pitching has let them down in the past two games that could of helped them extend their division lead, luckily their ace David Price will be taking the mound for them tonight. Price will be facing his former club for the third time this season and he is 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA with Boston winning both by two runs. Price (7-1, 5.11 ERA) has pitched a lot better after going through a rough stretch with his new team, as he is 3-0 with a 2.63 ERA in his last 4 starts which includes limiting the Blue Jays to two runs over 6 1/3 innings this past Sunday in a 5-3 win. R.A. Dickey can not be looking forward to facing Boston as he has been knocked around by the Sox. Dickey is 0-2 with a 6.60 ERA in three starts against the Red Sox this season having lost all three matchups by 2 runs or more. Boston hasn't hit a home run off Dickey in 15 innings but they have batted .279 against him and showed patience by drawing 10 walks. The Blue Jays are 1-6 in Dickey's last 7 starts versus a team with a winning record while the Red Sox are 6-1 in their last 7 home games versus a team with a winning road record. Boston averaged over 6 runs a game in their last home stand and I think they will be able to produce again tonight while Price will limit the Blue Jays and pick up the win.
