This line has jumped about 35 cents since it opened with the Rangers as the underdog. A lot of that has to do with the return of Adrian Beltre. The Rangers have won each of the last two nights and they beat up Oakland ace Sonny Gray yesterday. This team is on fire and I think that they will win this series just like they did against rival Seattle on the road last weekend. Colby Lewis has been having a really strong season. And the Rangers are going up against A's rookie Dan Mengden. That is a big edge for this powerful Rangers lineup. The Rangers are 6-0 in Lewis' last six starts and 5-2 when he starts on the road. The A's are 2-9 in their last 11 and they are 6-23 against right-handed starters. Lewis has won five of seven starts against the A's and I think he will get it done.

The Mets broke out in a big way yesterday with a season high 19 hits thumping the Pirates 11-2 and I think they can continue that success tonight. The Mets will be facing off against Juan Nicasio who the Pirates aren't quite sure what to do with lately as his last appearance was in relief as he has struggled as a starter, especially on the road. Nicasio is still searching for his first win away from Pittsburgh as he is 0-3 with a 6.20 ERA in five starts. New York will counter with Bartolo Colon who has pitched well at home but his offense hasn't helped him out much. Colon is 1-2 with a respectable 2.73 ERA through five starts at Citi Field but his offense has only scored 11 runs over those contests. The Mets are 5-1 in their last 6 home games versus a team with a losing road record while the Pirates are 1-6 in their last 7 road games versus a right handed starter. I like the Mets to pick up the win in the rubber match of this three game set.

The Dodgers are 8-2 in their last 10 home games and the Dodgers are 10-3 against a team with a losing record.

The Washington Nationals will look for their sixth win in their last seven games when they hit the road to take on the Padres at Petco Park in San Diego, CA on Thursday night. Tanner Roark (5-4, 2.92 ERA, 1.22 WHIP) will get the start for the Nationals and he will be opposed by Erik Johnson (0-1, 9.64 ERA, 2.36 WHIP), who is scheduled to get the call on the hill for the Padres. Washington has posted a 4-1 record in their last five games where they faced a right handed starter and they have gone an excellent 8-3 in their last eleven games following a win. They have also gone 4-1 in Roark's last five starts where he faced a team with a losing record and the team has won ten of their last fourteen road games. The Padres, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here tonight as they have gone just 3-8 in their last eleven home games where they faced a right handed starter and they have lost six of their last eight games following a win. San Diego has also not just been bad against righties at home as they are just 5-16 in their last 21 games versus a right handed starter overall. Throw in the fact that the Nats have gone 5-1 in the last six head to head meetings between the two teams and we'll lay the price with them here to get the road win in San Diego as out numbers have them hitting Johnson pretty easily and we think they carry some of that momentum from their huge series win over the Cubs with them out on their West Coast road trip.
