Take Arizona/Toronto GAME TOTAL OVER as my 5-Unit MLB Total of the Week for Wednesday afternoon. This pick falls into one of my top MLB systems and I have this game flying over the posted total today. Arizona has the 4th most hits in MLB and they have hit .284 as a team against lefties this season while averaging 4.9 rpg. The Jays lit up lefties last season and I expect them to have a lot of success against Ray today, after facing a lefty starter yesterday. The Jays were averaging 7.4 rpg over their last 7 games before last night's loss and I look for their bats to stay hot against Ray. Opponents have hit .281 against Ray this season and now he faces one of the hottest line-ups in MLB. Happ has struggled at home this season with an ERA of 4.63 and opponents hitting .287 against him, and now he faces a team that owns lefties. The O/U is 4-1 for the Diamondbacks in their last 5 road games when facing a lefty starter, and the O/U is 5-1 in Happ's last 6 starts at home. 7 Unit Play. Take #914 Cleveland Indians -120 over Tampa Bay Rays (7:05 PM, Wednesday, June 22)


The Cleveland Indians will look to extend their win streak to six games when they take on the Tampa Bay Rays at Progressive Field in Cleveland, OH on Wednesday night. Trevor Bauer (4-2, 3.46 ERA, 1.25 WHIP) will get the start for the Indians and he will be opposed by Chris Archer (4-9, 4.60 ERA, 1.44 WHIP), who is scheduled to get the call on the hill for the Rays. Cleveland has posted a perfect 5-0 record in their last five home games where they faced a right handed starter and they have gone an excellent 10-1 in their last eleven games where they faced a team with a losing record. They have also gone 5-2 in Bauer's last seven games where he started with four days of rest and they have won eight of their last eleven games after allowing two runs or less in their previous contest. The Rays, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here tonight as they have gone just 3-8 in their last eleven games where they faced a team from the AL Central and they have lost 16 of their last 21 games overall. They have also gone 2-8 in Archer's last ten starts versus a team with a winning record and they are an awful 1-11 when he starts the third game of a series dating back to the 2015 season. Throw in the fact that Cleveland has gone 27-12 in their last 39 home games against the Rays and we'll lay the small price with them here to get the win in Cleveland on Wednesday night.

I like the Under in the final game of this short 2-game series in Oakland. Neither of these teams are offensive juggernauts and both of these pitchers have pitched well this year. Guerra is 3-1 with an era of 3.81 while Mengden is 0-2 with a 2.25 era. This is just Guerra's tenth start of the year while Mengden is making just his third start. Obviously, neither team has faced the opposing pitcher and it will be tough for both teams to adjust on this get-a-away day game. Milwaukee has scored 3 or fewer runs in 5 out of their last 7 games. Oakland has scored 3 or fewer runs in 4 out of their last 5 games. Neither of these teams will put the fear of God in opposing pitchers and I look for a good pitching duel today in Oakland.

We roll with the Over here though most of the public thinks that it is on the Under. Bear in mind a few things here as these two teams hook up, as most of the public is hammering the Under. Noah faced this team earlier this year and the game went well under the posted total as he dominated from start to finish. This is a Kansas City team that comes off a loss yesterday, will want to bounce-back in a big way today and has a great deal of revenge against Thor. Combine that with New York struggling on offense and looking to bounce-back finally here at home against Duffy who has given up 8 homeruns over his last 5 starts. The Over is 7-2 for the Royals when they face a team in Interleague play with a winning record such as the Mets and the Over is 11-3 for the Mets when they face a left hander in Interleague play as well. Sure, this selection takes a lot of gonads like our Under selection in the Sparks/Lynx contest but we like it once again and we think it will win once again as one of these pitchers is likely to get hard today if not both. Let's shoot for the over today as it likely goes over the posted total at at least 8 or more runs today especially as the bullpens enter in this afternoon tilt.

Indians throw out Trevor Bauer tonight at home and he is 4-2 this year, 1.25 WHIP and a 3.46 ERA and in his last 3 starts the Tribe are 2-1 and his ERA has been a 1.59. Tonight look for the Tribe bats to jump on Rays starter Chris Archer and tonight the Tribe sweep away the Rays at home. Tampa has dropped 6-straight games and the Rays are 3-8 when Archer starts on the road. Cleveland is 10-1 against a team with a losing record and the broom will be out tonight.

Seattle is just 2-8 in its last 10 games overall and they have lost four straight series. Detroit is just too much right now and they have won five of their last seven outings. Cole Hamels takes the ball to the mlund, and all he has done is record a 7-1 record this first half of the season, sporting a 2-0 mark with a 1.88 ERA in his 4 turns in the month of June.


I don't think there is any chance the Reds light up the scoreboard like they did last night versus Hamels this evening.


Dan Straily will go for Cincy, and his last few starts away from the Queen City leave a lot to be desired, as Straily was rocked at Atlanta his last time out, and has now allowed 11 runs in his last 10-plus road innings worked. His season ERA on the highway is over 5, so look for the Rangers to get back to their winning ways right quick after last night's loss.
