These two teams have started out this season playing much differently than expected. The Mystics have a young core group and started out the season without Ivory Latta in the lineup but now that the lead guard is back they have won four of five to climb back to .500. The Mercury were a sexy pick to win it all this season with the return of Diana Taurasi and the existing roster but a piss poor 4-9 campaign has some people scratching their head. Phoenix showed some signs with back-to-back wins to end May (one coming at the expense of the Mystics) but have lost four of six since so they need something to get them moving in the right direction. That something may be a visit to the nation's capital, where Washington has gone 1-5 on the season and the Mercury have dominated the Mystics winning six of the last seven games overall. This Phoenix team needs to knock it off and start playing like they are capable or they will not only fail to live up to their loftly goals of a title but they will be home for the playoffs. This is the night they play one of their best games so take the points but don't be shocked if they win this one easily.
