Madison Bumgarner takes on the Oakland A's tonight and will become the first starting pitcher to bat intentionally in place of a designated hitter since Ken Brett did so twice for the Chicago White Sox in 1976. Bumgarner, who is hitting .175 (7-for-40) with two homers and five RBI this year, is batting because of the lack right-handed-hitting options. Bumgarner is 8-4 with a 1.99 ERA in his career against the Athletics. Bumgarner had gone 7-0 with a 1.27 ERA over 10 starts before losing back-to-back starts despite allowing a total of just four runs to the Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies in that stretch. With the small price, I back the ACE of one of the hottest teams against a rookie making his second career start ANY-DAY.

I am going right back with Montreal as they kicked off my 2016 campaign with a 2 unit victory. This team can be very dangerous this season. They ran the ball for 114 yards (5.7 AVG). Last week they attempted 42 passes and ran off 65 offensive plays. Last year Montreal threw more than 40 pass attempts in a game only once all season long (44 on Oct. 18 vs Hamilton). Lets talk about revenge. Ottawa won all three games in the season series including two wins by four points or fewer. Look for Montreal to continue its winning streak.

This pick has Calgary all over it. Calgary is 17-3 straight up in the last 20 meetings. However Winnipeg always plays Calgary tough on the road. Last year they lost by 1 as 7 point dogs. Both teams did not look great last week, and both lost. Winnipeg is coming off a home loss to Montreal that did not show life till the second half. To me its way too many points here. I will take the points that Winnipeg can hang with Calgary.

The Jays have hit .308 as a team lifetime against Carrasco in limited at bats against him, and he just pitched 9 innings in his last outing while throwing 117 pitches. Dickey has been hit hard at home this season leaving him with an ERA of 5.36 at Rogers Centre, while giving up 9 home runs over just 7 home starts. The O/U is 20-8-1 in the Jays last 29 games when facing a righty starter, and the O/U is the O/U is 9-2-1 in Carrasco's last 12 starts after the Indians allowed 2 runs or less in their previous game.
