2-Unit Play. #26073. Take New York City FC PK (+160) over New England (Wednesday @ 7:30pm est) (If this game is a Draw, then it is a Push).
New England come into this home match the losers of their last two matches after they started Saturday's match against Montreal flying high with two early goals, but a late penalty call crushed New England's hopes of at least one point. Kei Kamara finally found the net against Montreal and it will be needed against a NYCFC team that is riding a three match winning streak. New England currently sit in 8th place in the East, one point back from 6th place Toronto and a spot in the MLS playoffs, but with a -8 goal differential it will be difficult to overcome this spread unless New England start winning. At home New England have only been able to pull out 3-1-4 record while NCYFC has an away record of 4-2-1 and currently sit in first place in the East after a first derby victory in their last match against NY Red Bulls. NYCFC also lineup with the league's leading scorer David Villa who has 12 goals. NYCFC have been on a roll since Frank Lampard finally found the back of the net and see the talent for NYCFC be too much for New England as NYCFC pick up their fourth win in a row and New England fall for a third time in a row. NYCFC 2-0 New England.
4-Unit Play. #26250. Take Portugal +100 over Wales (Wednesday @ 3pm est)
Portugal enter the final four having not won a match in the opening 90 minutes of a match during Euro 2016. Ronaldo has looked far from world class, though he had one match where the world thought he was breaking out against Hungary. Portugal will be without William Carvalho through suspension and Pepe will be less than 100 percent with a thigh injury. Both of Portugal's knockout stage matches have gone to extra time, so see a bit of a sluggish side as they enter their third match in 11 days when most of these players played late into their domestic leagues. Portugal have the ability to play beautiful football and can pop up in creative spaces to score. Nani will need to be in fine form to support Ronaldo, but we have seen Renato Sanches come to the forefront as a player who is here to carry his team. It will be these three players who need to pull it together to take advantage of a Welsh team that will be missing two of its top players. Wales enters the semifinals missing both Arron Ramsey and Ben Davies through suspension. It is the loss of Ramsey that will be the biggest hole to fill for a Welsh side that are playing in their first semifinal of a major tournament. Gareth Bale will need to show all of his world class ability to get past a stronger Portugal side to win this match. Wales have been on a historic run that will end against Portugal as the holes Wales needs to fill in this match will be too great. Portugal finally pulls it together to win in regulation 3-1 over a Wales side that will put up a great fight.
2-Unit Play. #26254. Take Germany PK over France (Thursday @ 3pm est) (If this game ends in a Draw after 90 Minutes + Injury Time then it is a Push).
There is a reason why Germany are the current World Cup champions, they are currently in a resurgence of their golden age. Though they looked less than world class during the penalty shootout with Italy, Germany come into this match having played one of the best teams in the tournament and will be in a much better mind frame coming into this match. France come in having ended Iceland's dream run having put five goals away. The ESPN sports power index has France as huge favorites, but teams often have a bit of lag coming off big wins and playing lesser opposition. ESPN shows France as a 66 percent favorite over Germany. France have the tournament's leading scorer in Antoine Griezmann (4) and two others with three goals - Oliver Giroud and Dimitri Payet, though Giroud is a question for this match through a knee injury. France's last match was the first time this tournament that they came out of the blocks to press its opposition and score early. Iceland were never really in this match, but it will take a great deal of mental focus for France to put themselves in the mind frame coming into this match to beat the powerful Germany. The current World Cup holders will be without Mats Hummels through suspension and there is a possibility that Sami Khedira, Mario Gomez, and Bastian Schweinsteiger may all miss this match through injury, but Germany still have one of the deepest benches and should not miss a beat without these players. Germany still have Mario Gotze and Mesut Ozil who can fill in and are dangerous. Germany and Italy put on the most exciting match of the knockout stages and see this match of tournament favorites equal that. When it comes down to it Germany really are the better team regardless of France being the host and their last result. Germany hold on late and win 2-1 through another amazing performance by Manuel Neuer.
