The Yankees showed some grit last night in their 3-1 win over the Red Sox, as they avoided the crippling 3 game sweep to start the second half of the season.

I like their chances tonight to pull even at .500 (yet again) for the year behind the rested Ivan Nova. Nova does own a 7-4 career mark against the Orioles, and he is facing Baltimore's weakest link in their already suspect rotation in Kevin Gausman.

Gausman is just 1-6 with a 4.14 ERA for the season. He has actually pitched very well against the Yankees in a pari of starts this season, as Baltimore has dumped New York, 3-1 and 1-0 in the pair that Gausman has started for the O's.

Have to figure New York finally gets to him tonight in the Bronx where the teams are meeting for the first time this season.

The Yankees took 7 of 9 last year at home against the Orioles, and I like them to open this critical division set with the win.
