I know its tough backing Pelfrey on the road but I believe Shields is worse. The Tigers already torched him earlier in the season and they know him well from his days at KC. Shields has been in better form lately but he has faced bad offenses. I'm concerned that this is making him over-valued. The White Sox are also returning from a 6 game west coast roadie, where they managed 1 victory.

Like the Red Sox reasoning last night, the Tigers crush mediocre pitching. They are 10-2 when facing a pitcher with a WHIP above 1.30. After losing two straight to Minnesota at home, I expect the Tigers to come into this road trip with a chip on their shoulders ready to do damage to a pitching machine hurler.

Today we are on Boston RL over Minnesota. The Redsox have now won 10 of their last 12 and are just one game behind Baltimore in the East. The league leading best offense just keeps scoring runs at a clip of 5.61 per game this year. Yesterday, it was two unlikely hero's with Ramirez hitting 3 homeruns, and Leon contributing with a triple and a homerun in another win. As if that offense against the worst team in the AL isn't enough, they get a huge pitching advantage with All Star Steven Wright who has been the most consistent Boston starter going to the mound. Wright is 11-5 with an ERA of just 2.78, and he is keeping hitters off balance with his knuckleball.
