Analysis: This is just as much a fade of Samrdzija as it is a bet on the Yankees. His days in the NL and the big park (Oakland) were have been vastly different. His biggest season-long ERA (throwing out the first three years as a RP) was with the White Sox, and that year was also the year he allowed by far the most HR's in a given season. With that in mind Beltran and Headley saw plenty of him in the NL (plenty still being a small sample size) and he has never pitched in Yankee Stadium. Conversely the Giants have very little exposure to Nova, who we know is typica šlly better at home. San Francisco has won exactly one game since the All Star break and brings a bullpen with an ERA up near 4.00 since "resting". New York's bullpen hasn't allowed an earned run (through Friday) since the break and the team has won five of the last six games, putting them over .500 and now with a realistic chance to make a move on Boston and/or Baltimore (who they just took three of four from). So we essentially have two teams headed in opposite directions, and the market has yet to catch up, while the bettors have.

12:35PM EST - I am leaving this in play with Cueto pitching - first off, the Yankees now know if the pitching change in plenty of time. When they change a pitcher late, more often than not the opposing team is simply unprepared even if it's some AA prospect. So, now, it's a fade of Cueto on the road in a park that makes LHH's look like Babe Ruth - and NOW you've got Yankees (Beltran, McCann, Headley, Castro) that saw MORE of him in the NL than they did Samardzija - and hit him HARDER. The new line has been up for almost 45 minutes - and it's almost exactly where it OPENED AT when Samarzija was starting - you'd THINK that with a "marquee pitcher" like Cueto that the line would open at or go too a much higher number. And what makes me like it as much (or MORE) is that when the new TOTAL came out it came out at 7.5! (At Bookmaker) and very quickly went to 9 and juiced closer to 10 at most places. So, I am simply re-betting it for that that list pitchers - I'll even leave my original total up at 8.5 (at 9 now it's only a push if it LANDS on 9 so worth playing) ad grade it that way, even though we COULD have had a better number.
