Today we are on Texas ML over Oakland.
The Rangers once had an a huge lead in the West, but it has dwindled since the All Star break. Texas finally gets home for a 7 game home stand, and it begins today against Oakland. The A's throw Mengden today, and he has struggled all season with a 1-5 record and a 5.52 ERA. Things have gotten worse in July as he has an ERA of 9.33 so far. Texas counters with Perez who needs to step forward and be there ace for the 2nd half. He can be dominate at times, and if he pitches well, the offense has plenty of fire power to get him the run support he needs.
Today we are on New York/Houston over 7 1/2.
We are getting a huge premium on the over today as the starters for this game have a combined ERA of 9.95. Pineda has had a tough season for New York going 5-9 and a 5.25 ERA. His last outing was solid, but prior to that he had several more games where he gave up 5 or more runs. Houston has gained lots of ground on Texas lately, and the offense has been very good. Altuve is now hitting .360 on the year, and Springer is carrying the power load, although he is getting plenty of help. After a tough start to the season, Houston has gone a league best 37-16 to now challange for the West divison lead.Comment
